Happy Friday…and Blogmas Day 5!

I swear, when you wake up Friday morning the air is different. Hands down, my favorite day of the week 🙂

Toady I thought I’d write about one of the suggested Blogmas topics: My Favorite Christmas Movie. I was just having this discussion with one of my girlfriends the other day – it’s so hard to pick just one, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to my Top 5.

Here it goes! –>

5. ELF

Let it be known that I am not a very big fan of Will Ferrell movies – I don’t really care for his style of humor (that whole Old School/Talladega Nights shenanigans)… but I give the man credit because he totally won me over with Elf. This movie is a Top 5 must for so many reasons – which I’m sure many of you can figure out 🙂

4. A Christmas Story

If you had asked me maybe 10 years ago, this would have been my hands down, no questions asked, absolute #1 favorite! My brother & I would watch as much of the TBS 24 hour A Christmas Story marathon together every single Christmas. Then one year my Mom bought it for us on DVD because we loved it so much (bless her), but then I guess it kind of lost it’s uniqueness since we owned it? It’s still a special film and I’ll definitely tell my kids about how Uncle Matt & I lived and breathed for this movie every single Christmas. I do still love to watch it – but once is enough 😉

3. The Santa Clause

I was in first grade when this movie came out so it’s one of the few films that I vividly remember watching and enjoying every year growing up. It also always makes me want Dennys lol.  Note: only the first one makes the list 😉

2. It’s a Wonderful Life

Aside from the beautiful storyline & the fact that it may be the most classic Christmas film of all time, I love it because my Mom adores it. I remember being younger and her always wanting us to watch it with her. I never really cared for it then. It was black and white, I was traumatized by little George’s bloody ear ha… but the older I got the more I began to love it. It’ll always be a special movie because of how much it means to my Mom, so for that – it’s one of my favorites too. 🙂

1. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

I . LOVE . THE . GRISWOLDS. (I’m a huge fan of all the National Lampoon Vacation movies). I love the simplicity of this movie – it’s just good old family fun. No fancy extras – the clothes, the cars, the wrapping paper, the appliances, the cellphone/computer-less life – it reminds me of my childhood. Not to mention, Chevy Chase is hysterical. I may have watched it three times already this year, but who’s counting? #TISTHESEASON

That wraps up my Top 5 favorites! I’m trying to enjoy as many holiday movies as I can this month. I love getting home at the end of the day & putting one on, even if I end up falling asleep. It just makes every day of the Christmas season a little more special.

What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Have you been binge watching holiday movies too?

XOXO
