Today I have part three of my four part Christmas break round-up for you. (Find part one: here and two: here)!
So, I’ve had my (recently engaged!!) best friend since I was born! Literally, our Mom’s met in the hospital. My Mom was in labor with me, and her Mom (pregnant with her), was my NICU nurse. They became friends, and after that we became friends, our brothers became friends, and our sisters became friends – all the same age.
We all used to spend nearly every day together growing up, but due to life (sigh), we don’t get to spend as much time together anymore. Over the holiday we miraculously all had time off & decided to have a girls day (missed you, bro’s)!
It was such a wonderful afternoon of tea, treats, makeup, shopping, and plenty of laughs. 😉
The day started with such a high! We all met at my friend’s house before we left and she asked me to be her maid of honor! I was so honored that she wanted me to play such an important role in her big day and I am so excited to co-moh the wedding with her little sister next Summer. It’s going to be amazing 🙂
We all decided that we wanted to go out for afternoon tea! We went to the most adorable little tea house, The Drawing Room in Cos Cob, CT.It was so charming on the inside. Couldn’t have been any more adorable if it tried. We all got to choose a pot of tea. I went with a vanilla chai because I had always wanted to try it…and I’m so glad that I did! It was really delicious. They had, and I kid you not, the most AMAZING scones EVER. I’m talking fresh out of the oven, warm, flakey, slightly crunchy on the bottom, just all around YUM. Ugh, I’m still thinking about them. On TOP of that, they had the tastiest little finger sandwiches & mini dessert tarts. Everything was delish. I’m ready to plan another visit! We had to snag a few pictures before we left! Here’s all the girls 🙂 ……And here’s our super cute Moms! After tea, it was off to shop! I love downtown Greenwich – it’s such a beautiful area & they have some fabulous shopping.1) Loved this JLO floppy hat – so close to buying it, but my sister convinced me that it sat strangely on my head. She was right (what are sisters for)! Of course, I found the PERFECT one in JCrew …but it was navy. Wasn’t meant to be! 2) Mom getting a smokey eye done by the sweet girl in Sephora (while we tried on lipsticks). 3) Trying on this fabulous pair of light pink sunnies found in Kate Spade.Do you ever go shopping, not really looking for anything specific, just enjoying the day… and then fate intervenes? That’s what happened with these shoes! Michael Kors – on clearance – only pair – in my size – nearly 75% off. They’re now mine. And I love them. 🙂 #HurryUpWarmWeather
After a [very] successful day of shopping, we stopped for some coffees, lattes and hot chocolates. And of course…more desserts. [My Mama is so pretty.]It was really such a perfect day – from start to finish! I wish we were able to do it all over again tomorrow!
Have you been to a cute tea room?
