I’ve tried my fair share of brow products in the past  — both high + low end. I had been using + LOVING a taupe colored pencil from NYColor, but the entire NYC line has been replaced by e.l.f. cosmetics in all CVS’s. Don’t get me wrong, I do love e.l.f., but — what the heck!?

When my pencil was reduced to a nub, it was time for something new. So, I picked up Milani’s Stay Put Brow Color.

This pomade pot comes with a double edged angle brush + spoolie.
It applies so precisely!
It applies so smooth, natural + precise!

When shaping your brows, there are 2 cardinal rules:

  1. It is SO important to work with what you’ve got! Do not try to draw in a brow that doesn’t exist.  If your brows don’t arch, don’t force them to. Learn to love + embrace your unique shape! They’re exclusively yours. 🙂
  2. Use a product that is a shade or two lighter than your natural brow hair color. You do not want to use something that is too dark. A lighter product *will* fill in nicely, I promise. You want them to look as natural as possible.

Below is a quick breakdown of how I like to shape + fill my brows with Milani’s Stay Put Color. This can apply to pencil users as well!

  1. Brush bare brow with a spoolie
  2. Line the top of the brow with the angled brush- using just a bit of the product
  3. Line the bottom of the brow the angled brush – using just a bit of the product
  4. Fill in the brow, but leave the beginning bare. You don’t want harsh lines or too much product – it should have a fading effect.
  5. Apply concealer below the bottom brow line
  6. Blend concealer to create a smooth line + set the brow with a clear mascara or a spritz of hairspray on the spoolie!

Shaping + filling your brows is a quick, small effort – that’ll make a BIG difference!

What brow products are you loving lately?

And random Q, but do you have a favorite eyebrow?! I definitely have a better relationship with my left one! 😉

XOXO

  1. I love my right brow 😉 Haha, and I use Anastasia Brow Wiz, it’s my first time ever using such a product and I’m pretty happy with it thus far.

    P.S. Your brows are amazing!!

    • Haha, there’s *always* a favorite brow!! Anastasia Brow Wiz is awesome, I have used (+ loved) it before too! And thank you – I didn’t really start filling in my eyebrows until maybe a year ago? If that! It makes such a difference. Thanks for reading, girl! XOXO 🙂

  2. I was just getting ready to ask you about your brows! They are amazing. I had an “oops” a few years back and my eyebrows have never grown in the same. So, pencil is what I’ve been using. BUT I would like a more natural look, and this looks like good stuff. Great illustrations!

    • Thanks, girl! Give it a try! I honestly only really started shaping/filling them about a year ago. It’s really easy to do + I think you’ll be surprised by how much a difference it’ll make. XOXO

  3. Again perfection post!! AAA you are just such an amazing blogger love! I loved all these tips. I totally need to get on your brow game and I will be using these tips. I also need to just the Milani pomade! It looks amazing! I love Milani products, but never tried this one! I also def have a better relationship with one of my eyebrows haha! It is definitely my right one. I can always shade it better and it just looks so much nicer. I always take my pics from that angle haha!
