Since I’ve been on a mission to utilize every item in my closet, I wanted to start styling + featuring outfits that incorporated not only my seasonal go-to pieces , but also articles that I rarely wear!

With that said, I’m going to be starting a new floating series: “Mix + Max”.  It’ll be a styling series that focuses on the mixing of old + new pieces in an effort to help maximize the wardrobe. 🙂

Today, I wanted to take two of my go-to items this season [blanket scarves + leggings] and style a causal, but trendy daytime/weekend look .

NoNonsense Black Zip LeggingsI sifted through my closet + pulled out this fabulous red zip jacket from Forever 21. I got it a few years ago + cannot even remember the last time I wore it. Why? I have no idea! After throwing it on, I was reminded of how cute + comfortable it is. 🙂

For bottoms, I went with these cozy black leggings that I recently received from NoNonsense. They have the cutest little ankle-zip!

At this point, I would have normally grabbed a pair of booties or my OTK’s, but I wanted to keep the zipper exposed + the look more casual.  So, I opted for my Nikes…a pair of sneakers that I love, but rarely find myself wearing! I am so short + usually gravitate towards some form of a heel, but it was nice to get some use out of these shoes + I think they worked well!

When you take a little extra time to look for outfit inspo + get creative with what you’ve got, you’ll find that you have way more than you think you do! Since beginning my #WIWTW series (+ now this one) I’ve been using every inch of my wardrobe + have found myself inspired to wear old things in new ways!

  2. Love the new serious girl!! You seriously always amaze me!! I don’t know how you always come up with perfect posts!!! Every single thing you post is perfection. Anyway, I totally love how you are using all your items in your closet! I totally need to do that too! I loved all these pics…so cure!! And your outfit it perfection…like always!!
