Good Morning + Happy Blogmas Day 9! Today…we’re talking skin care! 🙂
I currently have 4 different face masks in rotation. Each one serves a different purpose, but all are equally great! I really wanted to share one of my favorite treatment masks with you…
I’ve struggled with acne in the past + though it’s not as consistent as it once was, I still get some monster zits here and there! I have my go-to spot treatments [which work wonders], but once the pimps are gone…I’m left with some terrible scarring.
To help reduce the appearance of these scars – I use Mario Badescu’s Whitening Mask.
This hydrating mask claims to “help brighten uneven skin tones and gently minimize the look of old acne scars and discolorations from the sun. Skin lightening, natural ingredients like kojic acid, licorice and mulberry make this mask gentle for all skin types. Contains no alpha hydroxy acids making it safe and gentle for acne erupted or very sensitive skin.”
The product itself is a slightly gritty, clay-like paste…that drys like paint. If that description makes any sense?! lol
I wash + completely dry my face before applying the mask all over. I’ll then wear it for 15-20 minutes.

Afterwards, rinse clean with warm water + moisturize! 🙂 It definitely leaves my face feeling smooth, refreshed, and hydrated. To be clear, it’s not going to instantly erase scars or sunspots, but over time, you will notice a difference!

I’m a huge fan of this product + it’s not terribly expressive…you can find it at Ulta for $24!
Do you use any products to help even out your skin tone?
Have you used this Mario mask before?
XOXO

I just added this to my “to try” list. I just purchased the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Deep Pore Cleansing mask from Amazon. I’ve heard it’s supposed to be as good as the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment. The Glamglow works really well but man is it pricey. I’ve only used this clay mask once so the jury is still out, but it’s definitely affordable.
Ohh thank you for sharing — I haven’t tried either of those, but I’ll have to look into them! I’ve used this mask for years, and it’s definitely helped my skin a lot! I love trying new face products though. 🙂
I’ll have to add this to my list! I’ve been thinking about adding more masks to the rotation. I currently just swap out between Peter Roth’s Irish Mud mask and Tarte’s Amazonian Clay mask and both work well but I’ve been using them both for years and want to break the cycle!
Oohh! I’ll have to look into those too! I love trying different masks! 🙂
Your skin is gorgeous! I definitely want to try this mask, great review! 🙂
Thank you! I definitely try hard to take really good care of my skin, but it can be so finicky. It’s a great mask though — one of my favorites! Thanks for reading! XOXO
Nope, haven’t tried it, I currently just use Proactive+ products, but looks great! 🙂
You have great skin — I know a lot of people who still swear by proactive – I haven’t used it in gosh, 10 years?! But I’d be curious to try it again! I loved their mask + lotion.
I break out so bad, it is the only thing I have found that works as an adult… now just to keep my skin hydrated in the winter… 😉
Omg thanks for sharing!!! I have been trying to find something for my scars but havent found that right formula!!! Totally trying this… 🙂
Yay! You’re welcome! It’s definitely a favorite of mine. Scars are the worst – such a pain to deal with. Good luck! :):)
I’m glad you like it. I’ve had a bad experience with Mario Badescu products and I stopped trying (I really really wanted to like them since he’s a fellow countryman, but it wasn’t meant to be). I go for Korean stuff now.

Aww – that’s a bummer. 🙁 I’m honestly only a fan of his acne products. The face washes + everything else don’t really work well for me. What Korean products do you use?!
Mostly sheet masks and night creams, They are to die for 😀
