Happy Fridayyyy!
A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet up with the very sweet fashion/lifestyle blogger, Gail G! We met in the city for brunch and had the best time just chit chatting about everything + anything! We did a little interview/Q+A with one another, and today, we’re finally sharing our posts! 🙂
Gail does a really great job presenting herself online – between her posts, her photos, her positive interactions with others, she seems to have it all nailed down! I wanted to pick her brain about so many things, so I asked her a few questions about her style, her blog, and her goals! Take a peek at her answers below…
1) Why did you start blogging?
I really started blogging back in 2006 because writing was something that I enjoyed. At the time, it was more of a lifestyle blog about motherhood. This time around, I’ve combined my love of fashion and lifestyle to make it all-inclusive. Blogging serves as an outlet for me to express myself and it brings things out of me that otherwise would have been suppressed.
2) What kinds of posts do you most enjoy writing?
Believe it or not, I prefer lifestyle posts where I’m sharing some DIY recipe or reviewing a product. I do love fashion posts but there’s only so much you can say about an outfit. 🙂
3) What has been the biggest “highlight” of your blogging career thus far?
Moving to a self-hosted blog for the second time and having it be a successful transition this time around.
4) Who/what do you look to for fashion inspiration?
Pinterest and Instagram are the best places for me to look for style inspiration. I also look to certain celebs like Halley Berry, Rachel Bilson, Blake Lively and Kerri Washington.
5) What is one thing readers may be surprised to learn about you?
I shared this in an older post but I have a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. I also danced in college and had two knee surgeries as a result of that.
6) I love quotes. Do you have a favorite one?
There are so many but I love this one by Maya Angelou –
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
7) Describe your style!
Simple yet chic.
8) Do you have a favorite designer?
I like Olivia Palermo, Stella McCartney’s and Alice + Olivia.
9) What is your favorite social media outlet?
I find myself on Instagram mostly. That’s where I get the most inspiration.
10) Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
I hope to have a pretty organized brand in 5 years. To have a definitive idea of what my brand is about. My goal is to continue blogging and to continue to meet wonderful bloggers like yourself and to be able to work with various brands.
We had the most delicious brunch at North Square in Greenwich Village followed by a fun little photoshoot in Washington Square Park…
I love Gails positivity, work ethic, sense of humor, and unique style! I have met so many amazing women in the past few months + am so grateful for their advice, insight, and help when it comes to this blogging world. Be sure to make your way over to Gail’s site: http://www.simplygailg.com to check out my Q + A! 🙂
I hope you all have the most wonderful weekend!
XOXO
