With Super Bowl 50 luring, I’ve definitely had all kinds of fun/bad-for-you game day recipes on the brain. I couldn’t figure out which I wanted to post, and then it clicked that I hadn’t ever shared my delicious, go-to appetizer that has YET to fail me…

Game Day Guac Pic

Guacamole!

Guac is one of those things that is *so* simple to make, it’s almost not even worth a post….but I’m going to do it anyways!

My sister + I are guacamole feinds! Over the Summer we’d get together and make a batch at least once a week! Now, you can get pretty crazy with guac – there’s a ton of different things you could add, but this recipe is very basic…and being a couple of basic chicks, we like it that way. 😉

Any excuse to share a pic with Kbell.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 3 avocados, 1 tomato, 1 onion, 1 lime, salt + pepper, tortilla chips

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: 3 avocados, 1 tomato, 1 onion, 1 lime, salt + pepper, tortilla chips

STEP 1: Chop tomato. Get rid of all that gooey/seedy juice.

STEP 2: Chop onion. Do your best not to cry hysterically.

STEP 3: Scoop out the contents of 3 avocados + mash. *You must mash the avocado before mixing with anything else.*

SO FREAKING GOOD! This recipe should serve 6-8 people, but I’ll be honest, I could eat the whole darn thing by myself.

Now like I said before, this is a great “basic” recipe, but if you want to spice it up, chopped jalapeños are the move! Some people like it with garlic or cilantro, I say do it up. Sky’s the limit! 🙂

How do you like your guacamole?

What are you making for Superbowl Sunday?!

  1. Super yummy! 🙂 HAHAHA I can’t stand football, so won’t be making anything. I only ever went to the SB parties for the food. 😉 I will be sharing this on my blog FB page! 🙂

  2. I’m the pickiest eater, but I do like guac. Just a little bit though! I’m trying to start eating more like an adult and less like a toddler and this recipe looks simple and tasty!

  3. I am starting to get hungry and I decided to read this anyway. Now I am starving and have the munchies. I LOVE guac, and I love it that same way but with cilantro. Gorgeous pictures BTW!!

  4. This looks so good! Ive been on a recent guacamole kick so I’m gonna give this a try. How long does it usually last in the fridge? I use a powder mix sometimes and it only lasts for a few hours before it goes brown.

    • Ugh, unfortunately I’ve yet to figure out how to preserve guacamole, but I kept this for a couple days…it did get a little brown in the fridge, but only the very top layer! I’ve heard adding warm water or lime juice before covering + storing helps? The onlyyy downfall to this delicious treat!! haha
