With Super Bowl 50 luring, I’ve definitely had all kinds of fun/bad-for-you game day recipes on the brain. I couldn’t figure out which I wanted to post, and then it clicked that I hadn’t ever shared my delicious, go-to appetizer that has YET to fail me…
Guacamole!
Guac is one of those things that is *so* simple to make, it’s almost not even worth a post….but I’m going to do it anyways!
My sister + I are guacamole feinds! Over the Summer we’d get together and make a batch at least once a week! Now, you can get pretty crazy with guac – there’s a ton of different things you could add, but this recipe is very basic…and being a couple of basic chicks, we like it that way. 😉

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 3 avocados, 1 tomato, 1 onion, 1 lime, salt + pepper, tortilla chips
STEP 1: Chop tomato. Get rid of all that gooey/seedy juice.
STEP 2: Chop onion. Do your best not to cry hysterically.
STEP 3: Scoop out the contents of 3 avocados + mash. *You must mash the avocado before mixing with anything else.*
STEP 4: Combine the mashed avocado, chopped tomato, chopped onion, juice of 1 lime, and salt + pepper to taste. [I like my guac salty] 🙂
Grab a bag of your favorite tortillas + enjoy!
SO FREAKING GOOD! This recipe should serve 6-8 people, but I’ll be honest, I could eat the whole darn thing by myself.
Now like I said before, this is a great “basic” recipe, but if you want to spice it up, chopped jalapeños are the move! Some people like it with garlic or cilantro, I say do it up. Sky’s the limit! 🙂
How do you like your guacamole?
What are you making for Superbowl Sunday?!
XOXO
This looks amazing! x

Thanks! It’s so good!! I have a bowl in the fridge + I’m snowed in today…will 100% be eating this all day! lol.
Super yummy! 🙂 HAHAHA I can’t stand football, so won’t be making anything. I only ever went to the SB parties for the food. 😉 I will be sharing this on my blog FB page! 🙂
Thank you! And omg, I really cannot stand football either – so long, so confusing! Obviously the Super Bowl parties are all about the food!!! 😉 Hahaha
That looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing.
So so yummy, I could eat it with a spoon! 🙂
Looks so good! Love me some guac! I actually have a couple avocados on me and might have to try your recipe out 🙂
Yay! Definitely give it a try! It’s ridiculously simple, but I kind of like it that way! 🙂 Let me know how you make out! XOXO
Making it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay!!!! Wish I were there eating it with you!! 🙂
miss you kat
miss you too AJ XOXOXOXO
I’m the pickiest eater, but I do like guac. Just a little bit though! I’m trying to start eating more like an adult and less like a toddler and this recipe looks simple and tasty!
You’re too funny! I’m still working on my adult diet as well. Guac is a great place to start! 😉
YUM!!! Can not wait to make this one!!! Although the boyfriend hates this (I know I can’t believe it either) so it will be all for me 😉
So funny! My BF hate’s it too!!! He was so bummed when he found out I was making it [as he usually likes to eat all of the leftovers lol]. So strange, they’re crazy!!
That is too funny!!! They are really missing out!!!
This looks so delicious!! I loveeee guacamole!! I don’t think I’ve ever put onion in mine before, I’m gonna have to try that!
Guac is seriously the best! I could eat it all day! Definitely try it with the onion – it’s so yum! 🙂
I am starting to get hungry and I decided to read this anyway. Now I am starving and have the munchies. I LOVE guac, and I love it that same way but with cilantro. Gorgeous pictures BTW!!

Aww, I’m sorry!!!! That’s the worst. I have to try so hard to avoid any food-related blog posts when I’m hungry, they’ll get ya!
Love!! Especially bc I *cant stand* the taste of cilantro — definitely my app to bring to our game day celebration! Thanks 😊
Yum!! xx
This is exactly how I make my guacamole, except I mix everything in the blender 😀

love guac! I usually just make it with avocados and one of those pre-made guacamole spice packets. I’ll have to try it like this with fresh ingredients! xoxo, Jessie

This looks so good! Ive been on a recent guacamole kick so I’m gonna give this a try. How long does it usually last in the fridge? I use a powder mix sometimes and it only lasts for a few hours before it goes brown.
Ugh, unfortunately I’ve yet to figure out how to preserve guacamole, but I kept this for a couple days…it did get a little brown in the fridge, but only the very top layer! I’ve heard adding warm water or lime juice before covering + storing helps? The onlyyy downfall to this delicious treat!! haha
your pictures are amazing.
Thank you so much girl! I’ve really been trying to step up my photo game – so that means a lot!! 🙂
your welcome. It’s something I noticed and though wow these shots are really good x
I appreciate that!! XOX 🙂
