I am really excited about today’s post! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about nailpolish…and if you know me, you know I LOVE me some polish! 🙂
I spent this past weekend on my #OperationSimplify grind, which included tossing, donating, and selling a ton of clothes, products, books, and other miscellaneous items in an effort to declutter my life + make room for new things to love! This clean out included downsizing my nail polish collection…

I tossed a bunch of old polishes, and was able to pack up a box of new + barely used bottles for someone’s daughter! It made me so happy to see them get a second life. I swear karma/the universe/whatever you want to call it works, because when you open your arms + make room for new things…new things arrive!
Six polishes from KBShimmer arrived at my door on Saturday + I was beyond excited to play with these new beauties!
I had never used or heard of KBShimmer before, but after scoping them out online, I love their story! The polish company was founded by a husband + wife in 2008 and their products are “Big 3 Free” meaning the formula is completely free of toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and dibutyl phthalate [DBP]. Coming from a girl who paints her nails at least 2x per week, the less chemicals I’m exposed to, the better!
I could not wait to swatch each of these colors + when you see them…you’ll know why.
DISCLAIMER: excuse my sad little baby nails. 🙁 They’re not the prettiest for swatching, but I’m currently in the middle of an #OperationNailGrowth mission lol.
Check these colors out! –>
- You’re So Shellfish – This is one of my favorite shades for Spring + Summer! It reminds me of one of my go-to Sinful Colors polishes [Coral Island]. It applied so evenly + would really compliment a set of tanned fingers or toes! 🙂
2. So Flamous – I am so skeptical when it comes to glitter/shimmer polishes, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one! With only two coats, my nails were evenly covered + sparkled like crazy! I don’t usually wear glitter on it’s own, but this shade was quite sweet + demure for a shimmer…something I definitely find appealing for everyday wear!
3. Pools Paradise – Again, pleasantly surprised! I was not expecting this jelly polish to wear as well as it did! Two coats provided great coverage + even distribution! Such a fun Spring/Summer shade. The sparkles add a fun twist to your traditional baby blue. 4. Set In Ocean – Okay, HOLY MOLY does this polish pop! The bottle does it no justice! For the right occasion [when you feel like being a mermaid or something], this is the perfect color for a bold + eye catching mani! A bit much for me for everyday, but stunning none the less!
5. Hugs And Wishes – Not the craziest of colors, but a very pretty lavender shade. This is a great cream polish for Spring + applies perfectly in two coats! I enjoyed this one a lot…and the name is the cutest. 🙂
6. Oh Splat! – I applied three coats of this white jelly polish + was overall very impressed with how it wore! These types of polishes [especially those of a white base] can be tricky to apply evenly, but the brush perfectly distributed just enough glitter specks. These nails totallllly reminded me of a jawbreaker!
And there you have it! Are these polishes crazy gorgeous or what!?
I have to admit, when I opened the package, I wasn’t sure that I’d love them all, but I really was surprised by how beautifully they wore! I love being introduced to new companies + brands…and love even more when I actually LOVE their products. From a self proclaimed mani maniac, I am giving two perfectly polished thumbs up to KBShimmer!
I’ve been perusing some of the other shades on their website + am eyeing a few beauties that I may need to add to my recently downsized collection! 🙂
Which KBShimmer polishes did you like best!? [I’m having so much fun with these polls LOL!]
Have you guys picked up any new polishes for Spring? Let me know below!
XOXO
Love them! I love how you get all of these fun things to try! The most exciting items that show up in my mail box are bills lol 😉 I think I like your blue polishes the best. SO pretty!
Hahaha ooooh I get those too!! LOL! I’m wearing Pools Paradise this week, but I’m itching for an occasion to wear that blue glitter! Nailpolish is 100% my weakness! 🙂
All pretty colors but I love the plain colors the best, and Oh Splat is a really fun color. Thanks for sharing! Xoxo
Thanks, Gail!! I usually like plain colors as well, but the glitter + shimmer polishes were fun to play with! I think I’ll definitely be wearing them all at some point! 🙂
I love them all! Tell me you didn’t redo your nails like 6 times without showing them off… they all look so good!
Hahaha oh my goodness, it was one swatch right after the next! But I only had to do one hand…and no top coat was necessary! 😉
LOVE the last one!!!! Anything with glitter and sparkle is a must 🙂
Yes!! I agree! 🙂
I love all those polishes so much, they’re gorgeous!!! You’re So Shellfish is the color is usually gravitate towards because it always looks good, but I’m really loving Oh Splat. Sometimes those splashes of color are hard to do yourself, so it’s great they added it in the polish for you already.
I really love You’re So Shellfish too …I’m always drawn to that color this time of year. And I know…their jelly polishes with the touches of glitter are just perfect! 🙂
I’ve never heard of this nail polish company, but I am loving the look on your nails!! I’ll have to check them out! So cute!
I hadn’t either! I love coming across fun new companies! And thank you — my nails are SO short, I wish they were in better swatting condition. 🙁
Swatching****
I need Oh Splat! in my life ASAP. I usually steer away from those polishes because the glitter never distributes properly, but this one looks so good. I recently got rid of a bunch of my colors too and sent them to family friends. It feels good to pass on items to get some more love from someone else.
It really is the best feeling!! I’m so obsessed with cleaning lately lol. And Oh Splat is so fun! Not something I’d usually pick up on my own, so it was nice to try! Glitter distribution IS really tricky, but this one wasn’t terribly difficult to work with…and it was very easy to remove!
Oh wow! I feel for you. It’s som😉 hard to let go but we must. I must do a general cleaning
Btw, lovely nail shades!
Thank you! XO 🙂
The bottles look adorable! 🙂
So Flamous and Hugs and Kisses are amazing!! They are all super cute!! Good job cleaning out those nail polishes!! I need to go take a look at my collection now haha
Two of my faves too! 🙂 Ugh cleaning out the polish was definitely necessary, but veryyy sad at the same time. 🙁
Loving these swatches and the polls are great fun too! 🙂
Aww, thanks! Glad you enjoy them! 🙂
