Calling all Summer interns…or anyone looking for a little office-outfit inspo this summer! Today’s post is for you… Intern style header

Over the past few weeks, I had so much fun helping my younger sister, Katherine, with her hunt for a Summer internship! I was happy to lend advice when she needed it…and more importantly — interview outfits! 😉

When all of the submissions, calls, interviews, and follow-ups were over, she was offered a couple of really great opportunities in NYC + CT! She ended up accepting an incredible position with a very notable corporate company and would be starting…in ONE WEEK!

Katherine has a closet full of the trendiest clothes, but she wasn’t sure she’d have enough work appropriate outfits. Lucky for her, I have a wardrobe full of “adult” clothes and was happy to put some looks together for her first week. I told her that in exchange for my help, she had to let me share the outfits on my blog, to which she happily agreed! 🙂 necklaces

My sister is hands down, one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen, so I knew she’d look great in anything, but I really wanted her to enjoy the outfits she’d be wearing. My goal was to make her look professional + polished, but make her feel comfortable + confident at the same time!

She + I can pretty much share everything but shoes. So the first thing I had her do was pick up a pair of Comfort Plus heels from Payless in her size! I will rave about these shoes until the day that I die! [You can read more about my obsession here if you’d like.] 😉

Comfort Plus
I had her get a nude pair to start! Black feels too heavy for Summer, and this shade is pretty much guaranteed to go with everything…as you’ll see! 😉

From there, I pulled a couple of outfit options for each day + styled them with a few accessories for her to choose from. I have to say, she was a pretty easy client and I think she ended up looking pretty darn good this past week! 🙂

Take a look! –>

MONDAY MondayFor the first day on a job, I think that a dress or skirt is most appropriate. In an effort to steer clear of anything too short, tight, or revealing, I put Katherine in this super comfortable pencil skirt, a bright red/orange sleeveless top, a beaded necklace, and a gold Michael Kors watch. An easy topknot completed this bold, day 1, power outfit!

TUESDAY TuesdayOn her second day, we went a little more casual. I put Kath in a pair of my favorite Cynthia Rowley ankle slacks with a sleeveless teal top. Her nude Comfort Plus heels, a gold choker, and a cream BCBG tote completed the look!

Back to bold! This vibrant orange Cynthia Rowley dress paired with a turquoise statement necklace + her CP heels made for a perfectly polished, and comfortable Summer work outfit.

THURSDAYThursday   Sticking with the bright-color theme, I put Katherine in this pink Cynthia Rowley sundress [with pockets!!]. The racerback design was a bit too revealing for the office, so we topped it with a black cropped sweater. A faux-pearl statement necklace, our favorite heels, and her cute eyeglass frames completed the look!

FRIDAY
Friday  After a long week first week on the job, I wanted  Kath to wear something no-fuss on Friday. We revisited Tuesday’s ankle slacks, paired them with a sleeveless black turtleneck, and of course, her CP heels. To add a pop of color, this shamrock green tote made the perfect accessory!
