First things first, I need to send some love to everyone in Texas. I cannot believe the havoc Hurricane Harvey has wreaked. It’s unbelievable and my heart breaks for all of those who are stranded, hurt, misplaced or scared. The images being shared of flooded nursing homes, frightened animals, and a city that is very much underwater are terrifying. I hope there is some relief soon, it’s hard to fathom such destruction when you’re so far away, but something of this magnitude could happen in any of our hometowns. Sending so many prayers to those in Texas and to those working tirelessly to help those in need.
Alright, on to todays post which is a little bit lights and was written prior to Harvey…
Did it take anyone else a little too long to realize that their eyebrows needed a regular trimming? Because I was super late to that party. Holy moly, do our brows grow! Over the last year or so, I’ve been pretty religious about trimming and cleaning them up every 1-2 weeks. It takes me no more than 5 minutes and today I’m going to show you how I do it! 🙂
I like to work with the natural shape of my brow …at this point in my life, they are what they are. I think it’s important that you work with what you’ve got! Don’t abuse your tweezers and don’t turn your brows into something they’re not really able to be. Embrace their unique shape and do what you can to make them look their best on your face. 🙂
Here’s a quick tutorial on how I trim and clean up mine…
The tools/products that I use:
-
-
- Tweezerman Brow Shaping Scissors (these are THE BEST!!)
- Tweezerman Tweezers
- Eyebrow Razor (similar)
- e.l.f. Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown (…even though it’s more of a crayon?)
- Maybelline Coverstick
It’s pretty simple! I’ve experimented with my brows quite a bit over the years, and especially over the past 6-8 months. Luckily, I think I’ve finally found a routine and products that work really well for me. How do you clean up your brows and what products do you like to use?
XOXO

This is a great video! I keep underestimating the power of the brows! I’m gonna do this!
Thanks so much Kristin! The brow power is often underestimated – by myself sometimes too. Your face is just completely pulled together when they’re done! 🙂
You just reminded me I need to do my brows.
Haha! I’m so glad I could help you out!! 🙂 XOXO
Your brows always look BOMB! I didn’t realize they needed trimming till a year or so ago. I’ve gotten them waxed for a while, but the waxer didn’t necessarily trim them before waxing. The girl I go to now is so good and does the best job.
Thank you, I think I finally figured out something that works for me. I feel like so many girls were missing out on the trimming process, although to be fair, the brow obsession didn’t become as intense until recent years LOL. So glad you found a good brow tech! XO
Trimming my brows makes such a difference! Sadly, I don’t keep up on that part like I should. I love the personality you show in your videos. And watching your routine helps me remember to keep it simple. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Caitlin! Trimming really does make such a difference!! I’m glad you enjoy the videos, that is such a nice compliment. XOXO
After destroying mine 10 years ago they are finally growing back slowly but surely lol. Do you think that thicker brows are here to stay? Any particular lotions you’d recommend that help them to grow faster.
