We’ve all been there, Christmas is X days away, you still need to grab a couple of presents, you’re cutting it a little too close with shipping times… and you’re stumped! Well here’s a list of gifts that are most likely available, in-stock, and easy to snag at a store near you.
There’s something very unsettling about running into a store to buy a random gift because you’re simply out of time, ideas, and energy. I’ve done it before, and I know you have too. It’s one of the only times I actually feel like I’m throwing my money away. And I’m pretty sure nobody likes that feeling. So the gifts I’ve listed below are all unisex and all items that I’ve personally received or purchased in the past or things I think others will truly like! 🙂
Cozy Blanket. This is one of my staple gifts for a Secret Santa swap or for the friend/family member who loves a cozy night in. Bonus if you choose a color that matches their home decor! These are available at many stores, but I usually find the best deals at a Marshalls, TJ Maxx or Home Goods. They have Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Nautica… all kinds of brands at really reasonable prices!
Slippers, robes, or gloves. I love giving any of these because 1) most people don’t usually purchase either for themselves, 2) you can find some really great deals, 3) you don’t really need to worry about knowing exact sizes! They can be worn a smidge larger or smaller and still be comfy. Again, Marshalls or TJ Maxx has good buys!
Perfume/Cologne Sampler. I listed these in my Sephora gift guide, but they’re worth noting again, because they’re just that good! Each comes with 15-20 samples of the best selling fragrances, and a coupon for a full sized bottle! So once the recipient chooses their favorite scent, they can redeem the voucher in store! Grab these at your local Sephora!
Wallet. Most men and women use wallets on a daily basis and many like to switch them up every couple of months so having a few options never hurt no one! This time of year, you can find some really great steals on really nice pieces. Again, Marshalls or TJ Maxx has a ton, but stop by your local Nordstrom Rack or Macy’s – they’re usually stocked as well.
Starbucks Tumbler. I love gifting these because the quality is topnotch, the designs change every year, and they’re just TOO cute! Next time you stop for coffee at your local Starbucks, browse their inventory and find a style suited for any of the men or women in your life! Pair it with a Starbucks gift card if you’d like, and you’re good to go.
Flask + Booze. For those who like to get a little tipsayyy, a fun flask is an easy gift. While you probably missed the boat on personalization, you can still find a ton of cute options that’ll compliment any personality, hobby, or style. Pair it with a bottle of the recipients favorite booze and you’re set! Stop by Pottery Barn, Target, or Williams Sonoma to find one of these!
Popcorn Machine. Okay this is one of my favorites! This is great for someone with kids or a fun entertainment room! We can all make popcorn on the stove or in the microwave, but something about watching it pop movie-theater style before your eyes is way more exciting…especially when you have company over. Find one at Crate & Barrel or Target! (Check online or call your local store to confirm they’re still in stock before making the trip.)
Towel Warmer. Who doesn’t like hopping out of the shower and wrapping themselves up in a warm towel? No need to run the dryer, this device sits right in your bathroom and will get your towel nice and toasty! I’ve found great ones at Brookstone and Bed Bath & Beyond. (Check online or call your local store to confirm they’re still in stock before making the trip.)
And if none of those tickle your fancy, I recently shared a video on my YouTube channel with a ton of consumable gift ideas – many of which don’t require physically going to get! Check it out:
After all of that, if you’re still 100% stumped, a few of my favorite stores for last minute gifts are: The Paper Store, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Brookstone, Nordstrom Rack, Macy’s, Francesca’s, or smaller local shops! I do love to shop local, and a quick Google search will reveal some cute gift stores in your area too.
I wish you all lots of luck in your last minute shopping and remember that while there is so much focus on presents this time of year, the holidays are about so much more! Make sure to give some of your time, love, and energy to the people who mean the most to you! 🙂
