At the beginning of the week, I decided I wanted to revive What I Wore This Week. I love this series, but every time I try to bring it back it never seems to last. I want to try to incorporate at least one WIWTW post per month because A) I love putting them together and B) it really helps me to get creative with my outfits and reach for pieces that I normally don’t. My hope is always that it inspires you to do the same. 🙂

If you read my random/ramble/life update post last Monday, you’ll know that I cleaned out my closet. With it 10X more organized than it was before, I finally feel like I have a good grasp on everything that I own and I’m ready to start working it all into rotation. Why bother owning clothes if you’re not going to wear them?

So, let’s rewind to the beginning of last week and break it down. PS: it rained almost every day this week, which made for some pretty boring looks… but I tried. PPS: I did my best to link everything; if I couldn’t find certain pieces, I linked to something very similar and budget friendly.

Monday, May 14, 2018: I am all about the lightweight cardigans lately. The weather is very up and down, so it’s nice to have something to throw over a tank, T, or dress if you get chilly. 🙂

Tuesday, May 15, 2018: I tested a new self tanner earlier in the morning, so I didn’t want to wear anything too tight around my legs while the color developed. I opted for these comfy, loose fitting pants that don’t usually see much light! 🙂

Wednesday, May 16, 2018: I loved this kimono last year and I’m so excited to see that it’s back in stock. It’s such a great layering piece and looks awesome against denim.

Thursday, May 17th, 2018: Another chilly, rainy, day. I’ve been having such a hard time picking out my shoes in this weather. I keep reaching for these sandals, not sure why…they’re not the best for wet weather… but I really love them! They’re already getting way more use than they did last year.

Friday, May 18th, 2018: I love this #Weekend t-shirt, it’s one of my favorite things to wear on a Friday. This hat is one of my go-to’s, and I am in love with these sneakers. I saw them over the Winter and really wanted a pair for Spring. My heels are prone to blistering, so I’m really into the backless style. I finally bit the bullet and ordered them!

Saturday, May 19, 2018: Another rainy day. I miss the sunshine. But I really do love these slide on sneakers. 🙂

So this week ended on quite the sour note. It’s so hard for me to show up on my blog or anywhere else online when I’m going through something difficult in my personal life. And I feel like 2018 thus far has been nothing but me saying this over and over. 🙁 I didn’t even want to post this post, but girlfriend made it a point to upload her dang outfit everyday and I felt bad trashing the whole thing. I don’t really want to or even know how to talk about it, but I felt the need to mention it because I have a feeling I’ll be a liiiittle MIA over the next couple of months. Which to be honest, has kind of been the norm lately.

I’m going to try not to become a total recluse and stick to my commitments, but I do want to make sure I take care of myself before anything else. Hopefully things will become a little more normal and I’ll start to feel like me again soon. Life is funny …and it’s so hard to know what’s right or wrong or what you should or shouldn’t do. We can’t predict the future but we can trust our gut. So right now, as I prepare to enter a new decade of life, I know I have to be brutally honest with myself, make some really hard decisions, and follow my heart, even if it’s hurting right now.

I’ll be back soon. 🙂

XO

  2. I’ve been thinking about you! 2017 was a challenging year for me, and there were times that I just felt nothing but stuck and overwhelmed. Not a good feeling at all, but with the right adjustments I can promise you it does get better! You are so smart to slow down and take this time for yourself, and I hope that you’re finding the inner peace that you deserve! You are such a beautiful soul and I have always loved your content and the genuine way you present yourself. There are not enough bloggers out there like you! I look forward to your return when you’re ready girlfriend! XOXO
