Do you prefer “fashion victim” or “ensembley challenged”?

Growing up I would have done anything to be Cher Horowitz! I remember being completely enthralled by her life, style, …and acrylic nails! 😉 I watched Clueless more times than I could ever count and blasted the CD soundtrack until it no longer played. To this day it is still one of my all-time favorite movies.

Though inspired, my style has never been as fun or crazy as Cher’s! While I wouldn’t skin a collie to make my backpack, I have taken a few fashion pointers from this beloved 90’s heroine over the years. One that happens to be making a comeback this season… plaid!

I’m not sure I could pull off a matchy-matchy two piece set a la Miss Horowitz, but pairing this mock neck bodysuit (exact) in her signature mustard plaid with a faux leather, full zip mini skirt (exact) and OTK boots (linked a similar pair) was totally my speed (random note: the zipper on this skirt is is supposed be in the front, but I preferred how it looked in the back)!

I don’t typically sport prints or patterns, but this one was different; I really liked the unique look! I kept joking that it was giving me a mix of Clueless vibes, Autumn vibes, and Grandpa’s-couch vibes. 😉 I debated black boots, but think the tan paired just perfectly.

I’m trying to be a bit more adventurous with my wardrobe this season! What are some of the Fall trends you’ve been seeing and loving?

XOXO

  1. i love love LOVE this look! Everything about it and it looks fab on you. Clueless never goes out of style! I’ve been rocking the Cher headband growing out my bangs and collared shirts under sweaters and I don’t care!!! 😀

    • YES!! Her style is the most fun. I’m a headband junkie too — never give those up! Growing out the bangs is a fun process haha, how’s that going?!

      • I tried sooooo super hard to send you a pic of my long white collared headband look this morning but the pic wouldn’t turn out!!! Well…my hair grows super slow so after A YEAR I can finally tuck my bangs behind my ears and now I wanna chop em off again! Sigh…i genuinely don’t know how to handle this dilemma #savemefrommyself hahahaha

        • HAHAH!You are too much! I love that you’re rocking the Clueless outfits – I’m sure you look adorable. And I hear you with the hair growth struggle. I chopped mine in April and it CANNOT grow fast enough – it’s literally not getting any longer at alllll… SOO over it! You crack me up! XO

  2. I absolutely adore everything about this!! I might even get myself the body suit and see how it fits me! Missing you darling 💕🍁

    • Ahh thank you my sweet friend! You should definitely try it on, I can see you in it!! It’s really cute. How are you?! I hope everything is going well. Still so bummed you didn’t land in CT! 🙁

      • I’m good, finally getting into the rhythm and routine of residency! Now trying to get blogging back into the equation. Me too, I am pretty bummed because I loved it, but I have to say El Paso is so nice! I have enjoyed it so far. I will certainly let you know when I pop back into the northeast! <3

        • Aw, I’m so glad to hear you’ve been enjoying your new home! It takes a while to get back into the swing of things, but I’m sure you’ll find a new routine soon. 🙂 I was just talking about a TX trip with my sister recently. If I ever make my way down there I will definitely give you a call. Miss you sweet girl! XOXO
