Have you ever had a wave of bad luck? The past few days have handed me a few headaches and road bumps and I am shocked to say …I’ve been pretty unfazed. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned thus far is that sometimes things will be out of my control, and it’s up to me to decide how I handle them. A happy life is all about perspective!

On Sunday, I got a flat tire on my way to a girlfriends house party. It happened on a busy highway (out of nowhere), it was pouring rain, and ended up being quite the production involving the police, AAA, and dear old Dad. Everything worked itself out, and I was thankful for the people who helped me get out of that pickle. Fun fact: I’m writing this post from Town Fair Tire Monday morning as they’re patching up my tire – for free. Woot! 🙂

I had a few unexpected bills land on my plate that I wasn’t anticipating (looking at you Uncle Sam…and Connecticare. #eyeroll #freelancerlife), but was so grateful I was able to pay them. I also had my debit card information stolen, but was tipped off with plenty of time to shut the card down before any fraudulent charges could be made!

Needless to say, in the midst of all these hiccups, I can’t help but feel happy & thankful. There is so much going right in life that when things go wrong, you’ve just got to ride them out and get through them as gracefully as possible.

I’m so glad that my tire didn’t blow on Saturday morning – that would have forced me to miss one of my beautiful best friends bridal showers! My Dad swapped cars with me on Sunday so I was able to make it to my girlfriends house for the end of her party and some overdue QT, and I got to wrap up the weekend watching GOT with friends! After days of rain, the sun is shining this morning, and this week my boyfriend + I are moving into a beautiful new home. Life is pretty good. I’m determined to keep looking at the bright side. 🙂

Speaking of the bright side, I’ve been dying to share this outfit on the blog!!

I have been patiently waiting to slip into this skirt since it arrived a couple of months ago! It’s so bold, beautiful, and perfect for the warmer temps we’ve been longing for (I’m wearing an XS, but wish I sized up, the waist was a bit snug). This bodysuit is going to be a staple all Summer; it’s easily paired with skirts, jeans, or shorts…it has a lot of versatility! The purse is the medium Luna bag from Amerii and is such a fun accessory for the season. I love these pieces together, but individually as well. Give me all the COLOR … Spring is finally here! 🙂

I hope anyone who finds themselves in some frustrating situations this week, this month, or this year remembers that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. We can’t always be up, but we can choose to feel up. And it’s a proven fact… cheerful clothes do help. 😉

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday!

XOXO
