Hey everyone, happy Thursday! Long time, no blog (one of these days I’ll find my groove and won’t need to keep saying that)! If you follow me on Instagram or are subscribed to my YouTube channel, you know that I got engaged in July! It was the most special day (details in this video) and life has been so wonderful since.

I hope to document bits and pieces of our wedding planning journey. Whether it be the struggles we’re facing with COVID or all the pretty things like dresses, flowers, and rings… I want to share this memorable moment in time with you. As I’m writing this, I have a pretty wicked migraine, but am honestly unfazed because I’m too amped about this post! So lets get into it…

Aside the realization that I get to marry the most wonderful man, a pretty big highlight post-engagement was this ring!! I absolutely love my engagement ring, Dan did a fabulous job designing it. It’s simple, it’s classic, and it’s very much my style. I had never gone ring shopping (with Dan or by myself) and only had a few preferences when it came to what I liked; gold, a rounded stone, no halo or band embellishments. Simple, simple, simple.

When he was proposing, I looked into his eyes and didn’t even glance at the ring until after all was said and done. I had no idea what was in that box and when he finally slipped it on my finger, I was floored! It was more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed and HOLY MOLY did the ring sparkle (note: after getting engaged be prepared to be distracted while driving, working, eating, basically anything that involves your hands).

Day to day, jewelry gets dusty, finger-printy (word?), and for lack of a better term… dirty. I had been making a conscious effort to keep my ring as clean and shiny as the moment I received it. And then… my Mom ordered me the most amazing product, The Purple Stuff!

This jewelry cleaner used to be sold exclusively at fairs, festivals, and other expos. Today, it’s sold on Amazon! Growing up, my Mom always had a bottle under her bathroom sink and I would use it all the time! Now, I have my own. 🙂

So how does it work and what makes it so incredible? Well, you simply spray your item, brush it, rinse it, dry it …and your jewelry looks in-freaking-sane!

See the quick & easy process below…

I use a small blending brush, but an eyeshadow or toothbrush works great too!

I’m sorry. The difference is just absurd. As I was snapping the “before” pictures, I was concerned because the ring looked great – I really didn’t think you’d be able to tell much of a difference after cleaning. Hello, my name is Amanda and I was DEAD WRONG.

The before and after is certifiable.

Mic drop. I don’t think there’s much else to say.

I shared this product in a recent video rounding up some of my favorite Amazon buys (check it out here) but it deserved it’s own blog post. I can sing it’s praises all day long, but when you see it in action, there’s no denying its magic. (PS: it’s impossible to edit a picture of a diamond. What ya see is what you get, this stuff is the real deal and you can use it to clean almost anything)!

I’m loving it so much and I know you will too! Let me know if you have any products, hacks, or must-have items for making your jewelry look its best. Also, let me know what kind of wedding-related content you’d be interested in seeing – we’re just getting started!

XOXO
