I had the itch to film an IG video yesterday and realized I hadn’t shared a holiday look in a while! Before I dive into this post can I just say how good it felt to put on a full face of makeup?! Fun outfits and fun outings are far and few between these days (forget about makeup)! But wow, there is definitely power in getting dolled up. I highly recommend you do so …just for the heck of it.

Don’t get me wrong, by the end of the day I was ready to wash it all off and rub my eyes with ease again, but I truly enjoyed the look while it lasted! I wanted to break down this holiday look and highlight a few products more in-depth than IG captions allow.

First things first – the Il Makiage Woke Up Like This Foundation has become my go-to for special events that require full coverage and phenomenal all day wear! I love my history with this product and love even more that it’s still something I reach for (you can check out my first …and second impressions of the product here). They have a shade matching quiz that you can take, they’ll ship you a full size bottle (for $5) to try for 1 or 2 weeks and if you don’t like it…send it back. It’s worth a shot!

Before I began, I was looking to feature one of the new palettes I received in recent PR packages but nothing was really speaking to me. So I thumbed through some of my older palettes and set my sights on a tried & true favorite – the Profusion Cosmetics Chocolates Palette. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love their shadows! I really like when “influencers” return to older products. Many times it’s all about what’s NEW, but sometimes you just love what you love. It’s ok to be a makeup repeater. 🙂 This particular palette has a variety of greens that I knew I wanted to work with.

The Ardell Magnetic Lashes are my latest obsession. These things are incredible! They attach to a gel liner, look insanely natural, will-not-budge, and are reusable! They’re fabulous. I have the demi-wispies but they have bolder and more natural options to suit your style. Magnetic lashes kind of had a bad rap, but these are so well done and SO worth it. Trust me, give them a try!

I have tiny little lips and I do plan to explore lip injections one day (the only cosmetic procedure I’d seriously consider at this point). But in the mean time, I love trying to make them look a bit larger. I do this by over-lining just a smidge (the KKW Beauty Lip Liners are great), then filling with a lighter matte lip stick (the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Lipsticks are amazing). After that, add a touch of a lighter lip right in the middle to give a fuller effect. It doesn’t work miracles, but it certainly gives the illusion of plumper lips! A little highlight on the cupids bow helps too. 😉

Hot Rollers have been such a secret weapon of mine since college. They allow your hair to style itself while you get the rest of yourself ready. It’s a win-win! I finished this look with a cute pearl hair clip from Amazon – trying to work with more hair accessories these days!

I think that’s all I really wanted to call out from this video! I’m going to link everything I used below so you can check out the products in more detail.
