HAPPY (almost) NEW YEAR!
2020 was a lot to digest and I feel like it’s going to take a long while before we can truly understand the magnitude of the year. Thankfully for our friends and family – it wasn’t so bad. We made it through this ride safely, healthy, employed, and with more quality time than we could ever imagine. While the year posed many challenges, I’m choosing to grasp onto the positives from the last 365 days and simply look ahead.
The highlight of my year was without a doubt getting engaged to the sweetest man. If I could have planned my own proposal, this would have been it. He crossed every “t”, dotted every “i” and truly made this the most special and romantic day that I wish I could relive over and over!
Though 2020 didn’t allow us to properly celebrate with all of the people we love, we’re optimistic that 2021 will make up for lost time.
I cannot wait to marry you Daniel Hopper!

Before diving into 2021, lets start with some beauty-related fun from this past year. I put together my TOP 20 Products from 2020 on YouTube. There were a LOT of new things to love this past year (though I did forget to include –> this one <– which was an absolute GAME changer for my gel manis!)
2021 is gearing up to be a busy and exciting year both personally and professionally. I don’t know about you, but as much as a packed calendar overwhelms me, it also forces me to get organized. So I’ve been spending my “down time” between Christmas and New Years doing just that.
This past year I really disliked how inconsistent I was. I think a lot of it had to do with how inconsistent LIFE was, but I really felt it with my work. I uploaded videos at my leisure, I slacked with my blog, I nearly abandoned my Facebook page, my Instagram accounts sat idle for weeks, and more often than not… I found myself with no desire or motivation to post (the fact that we barely left the house didn’t really help lol). Overall, I felt kind of lost online in 2020. Unsure of what to share and how to show up. Something I often struggle with but more so than ever this past year! So I took some time to figure out…
- What I love creating and sharing most.
- What you seem to enjoy most!
- The things I do behind the scenes when I feel like I’m thriving or on top of things (note to self: do more of these things)
And with that information, I set some realistic goals for myself and each of my channels. I drafted a 12 month schedule (something I’ve never done before) in hopes it will keep me more organized and consistent this year. Although, if 2020 taught us anything, it’s that there will always be things in life that are completely out of our control. So I’m approaching the new year with that in mind, focusing on the things that I can control, and allowing myself the flexibility to change course if need be.
Which perfectly leads me to my word of 2021 … chill. Truly, I just want to practice being more chill next year. Let thoughts come, let thoughts go, and let that translate into everything else. Life is too good to waste time worrying instead of living. Girlfriend does not need to give herself any more gray hairs than she already has.
There is a LOT on tap for 2021 (mainly a wedding and all the fun that comes along with that), but also a few other other things that I’m going to be talking about in my NEWSLETTER!
I’ve wanted to start a newsletter for years – I’d love a place where I can share some more intimate details about day to day life, great products, books, inspo, hacks, and some BTS scoop about the bigger projects I’ve been working on (without posting for all to see on the internet just yet).
If you’re subscribed to this blog or have entered any of my giveaways over the years, I should already have your email. But if you want to be sure that you’re on my mailing list… please submit your email address below. My first newsletter will be going out THIS Monday, January 4th!

Oh! One more thing. LIVE manicures on YouTube were something we all enjoyed in 2020 and I want to continue them in the New Year. I put together a schedule with one LIVE mani per month based on the Q’s I asked you over on @themanifam. I tried to line them up with holidays and important dates (I will be doing a LIVE before my wedding!!) so be sure to peep that below and mark your calendars. I’m really looking forward to continuing these with you in the new year!

I want to wish everyone a happy & healthy 2021! One thing is for sure, everyone walking into this year is doing so with 2020 vision. We’ve seen a LOT and its shaped us in ways we weren’t expecting. We know whats truly important. Our levels of gratitude and appreciation are way up, we have a new found clarity, and as a collective we’re stronger and more resilient than ever before.
While we don’t know what 2021 has in store, there is something we do know… this year will only be as sweet as we choose to make it.
Happy New Year!
XOXO
Love this post! I felt lost the past year too. There was a built-in lack of motivation for us all. I’m looking forward to the newsletter and everything else you have planned for us in 2021! But, no pressure. I love how you keep it real and how honest you are about your feelings. I think I remember you saying at the beginning of the year that you feel more productive in even-numbered years? Am I remembering correctly? I had such high hopes for 2020 as well. Heck, it just sounded like a cool year – 2020. Ha! Here’s hoping for an unexpectedly wonderful 2021!
