It’s been a while since I blogged a recipe so it’s only natural that my first food-related post in a while is something that I’ve been making on the regular! Summer is unofficially here and when the warm temps hit I have all things ice cream on my brain – and this smoothie (that might as well be a milkshake) has been helping to curb those cravings in a healthier way. This delicious combo has been my go-to afternoon or late night treat and it’s so easy to make!

INGREDIENTS:
1 frozen banana
1 cup of milk
1 raw medjool date (sometimes I’ll add 2)
1 tbs. peanut butter
Dash of cinnamon
Handful of ice (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Add a handful of ice if it’s too liquidy for your liking!

This takes no time at all to whip up and I swear it tastes just like a peanut butter milkshake. Packed with vitamin B-6, potassium, and omega 3 fatty acids there are plenty of nutritional benefits to be had here.
I buy a bunch of bananas every week and I’ll usually freeze 2 or 3 of them so they’re at the ready when I’m craving this smoothie. It’s perfection on it’s own, but you can add so many things to it – I’ve tried it with a scoop of chocolate protein powder, chocolate collagen powder, a handful of spinach, frozen blueberries and it’s just as tasty every time. When it’s blended, I usually sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on top, but go ahead and add a pump of whipped cream or drizzle of peanut butter if you’re feeling crazy!
If you’re in search of a cold, filling, and refreshing treat… do me a favor and try this out. If you do, report back and let me know how you liked it! XO
I make an almost identical peanut butter banana smoothie. You’re right. It’s just like a peanut butter milkshake. So good!
Oh my gosh, they’re the best! Such a treat. What do you do differently with yours? ◡̈
Other than the dates, nothing really. Lol! I love using frozen bananas so that I can skip adding ice, and it’s still thick and creamy. I add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to mine.
