I’m Back! Summer Wrap Up :)

Hello ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t know about you, but it seems like ages since I last posted (well over a month to be exact). It was without a doubt, a crazy busy Summer. Between, family, friends and work I was trying to balance everything and make the most of the season. Unfortunately, that resulted in me really neglecting my blog.

I’ve decided to do a Summer wrap up post sharing photos from the last couple of months (in no particular order)- you’ll notice a lot of food, manicures, and family!

Now that Fall is here, I hope to get back into blogging regularly! Until then, enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

I celebrated my birthday in June with some girlfriends at Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford! My lovely roommate organized everything and invited my favorite ladies for some afternoon wine, snacks & chit chat. It was the perfect day ๐Ÿ™‚

4th of July Manicures (the best of the best)!

Hi Ladies!

July 4th is literally right around the corner; between planning a fun BBQ bash, selecting the perfect RW&B outfit, and Pinteresting cute dessert ideas, we must make some time for our nails!

If you’re like me, you like to acknowledge the holidays on your fingertips- sometimes I go all out, and sometimes I opt for something a little more subtle!

A lot of people have been posting their 4th of July manicures on their blogs, Facebooks and Twitter pages lately, and of course I’ve scoured them all. While I enjoy looking at everyones creations, and wish I could post them all, I have selected the very BEST of the BEST to share with you for some inspiration.

Take a look:

Daily Something created this mani with Nicole ‘Listen to your Momager’ (blue), ‘A-England Perceval’ (red), Konad White (stamping) and China Glaze ‘White on White’. SO CUTE!
I Am Definitely Addicted created this patriotic look with China Glaze ‘Hey Sailor’ and ‘First Mate’
R3 Daily put a fun twist on the usual stars & stripes!
All Lacquered Up created this look with Milani and China Glaze polishes!
This mani from Pink yoU Rock is hands down my favorite for a number of reasons! It’s a gel manicure, with silver glitter, hand painted blue stripes, and a 3D heart. I love how cute, clean, and FUN this manicure is!
My current mani: Gelish “You’re So Sweet You’re Giving me a Toothache”

My Gelish mani is going 5 days strong, and I hate to have to remove it early, but all of this inspiration has me itching to create a fun 4th manicure! Maybe I’ll see if someone will let me borrow their finger nails to design a little something ๐Ÿ˜‰

I want to see your 4th of July manicures! Tweet them to me @_AmandaBella ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a safe and Happy Holiday everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

Exclusive Interview with Gelish!

I am very excited about this post, and if you are a Gelish fanatic like me, you will be to! I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to connect with the lovely Irene Chao, a seasoned beauty industry expert working in the PR department at Hand & Nail Harmony (ahh-such a dream job)!ย She was truly the sweetest woman; so friendly, and excited to talk with me. ย I asked if she’d be interested in answering some questions for my blog and she was more than willing to participate.ย Check out the brief interview below!
1) Can you give us a brief introduction about who you are, how long you’ve been working at Gelish, and a little bit about your job?ย
ย  My name is Irene and Iโ€™ve been at Gelish for a little over a month now, but my background is in the beauty industry. I previously spent 6 years working in the PR department at another beauty manufacturer in southern California.

2) I know why I love Gelish products, but what do you think sets the line apart from competing gel polish brands (ex: Shellac, OPI Axxium, etc.)?
A lot of people might not know this, but Gelish is the first brush-in bottle gel polish ever invented! The US and International patent-pending formulation proves that fact. Gelish offers up many unique colors including glitters and neons. We currently have 106 Gelish colors in total! This is the most offered by any gel-polish company out there.
So many gorgeous colors! (Credit)

3) What is the most popular Gelishย product? What is the most popular Gelishย color?
Some of our most popular colors include Gelish Sheek White, which is great on its own; but itโ€™s also perfect for nail art .
I love Gelish’s Sleek White for my french manicures! ๐Ÿ™‚
Gelish Good Gossip is also very popular, because reallyโ€ฆwho can say no to glittery-red gel polish?
Good Gossip
Gelish Gossip Girl is a fun, bright pink that is also very popular. The most popular Gelish product is actually Gelish NOURISH, which is a cuticle oil that rehydrates and restores essential oils in cuticles and skin surrounding the nail. It smells amazing and works like a charm!

4) Is Gelish going to be releasing any new polishes in the near future? Maybe a Fall collection? If so, what can we expect?
Yesโ€ฆThere will be a new collection for Fall, so be on the lookout for that! ย There will be 8, brand new fall-inspired colors that will compliment any wardrobe!
Hopefully we see some some darker warm and cool colors (deep browns, purples, blues, reds, greens!) I’m already a huge fan of their Bella’s Vampire!

5) I work in PR, and it would be my dream to work for a major nail polish company one day. What is it like working for Gelish? Do you enjoy daily, desk-side manicures? ๐Ÿ˜‰
Unfortunately thereโ€™s not much time for desk-side manicures, but Iโ€™m so grateful for the opportunity to work for such an amazing company. The people here are wonderful and I truly believe in the product. It doesnโ€™t get any better than this!

I learned so much about Gelish from Irene! I didn’t realize that they were the first brush-in-bottle polish, or that they even sold a cuticle oil (you all know how much I love my cuticle oil); Irene offered to send me a bottle and I honestly cannot wait to try it! I’m also dying to see this Fall collection!

It must be so fun working with nail polish behind the scenes-what an amazing job! Sending major thanks to Irene for talking with me- it was a pleasure!

Have you tried any of the Gelish polishes or products? Let me know your favorites! ๐Ÿ™‚

Rainbow in the Rain

Hello!

I’m so sorry that I’ve been pretty MIA lately, but I’ve been super busy. Not to worry, I have some very exciting, news and posts coming in the very near future! Please be patient with me & stay tuned ๐Ÿ™‚

Today was a completely miserable, rainy day in CT, so I thought that a little color would brighten it up!

Does anyone else constantly take pictures of their manicures? This is just a sampling- I have hundreds of shots!ย I think I should make an official manicure portfolio (people really do that!!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

The mani I’m currently wearing is in this bunch! If you tweet/instagram with me, you’ll know which one it is ๐Ÿ˜‰

What color do you have on today?

Orange Ya Glad You Bought That Dress?!

Okay, totally tacky post title, but you’ll see how it’s relevant ๐Ÿ˜‰

I went to a wedding over the weekend, and had little time to put an outfit together. It was a day wedding, so I didn’t need to dress too formal. I was on a time crunch and a budget, see how it all came together below ๐Ÿ™‚

Remember this Cynthia Rowley dress I had snagged at Marshalls a couple of months ago? It came in handy ๐Ÿ™‚

I went shoe shopping for some fun new heels, but was completely out of luck! Nearly every store was stocked with wedges, or ginormous, chunky, color-blocked heels. Neither of which was the look I wanted to go with. I went back home and decided my leopard print heels would do just fine. (When I told my boyfriend I was just going to wear these shoes he said “Aren’t animal print shoes trashy?” HA! I told him no, a hint of animal print is completely in style, and he would be surprised by how well they’ll work with the outfit.) A told you so moment ๐Ÿ˜‰

Side note- I tweeted a picture of these shoes a while ago and was asked where I got them, and I honestly don’t remember! They’re actually are over 6 years old- I wore them to my High School graduation ceremony! lol

The dress had a high neck, so I was debating whether or not I should wear a necklace. Ultimately, it seemed too plain so I opted to wear these chunky warm toned & gold beads which I’ve had for a while- I swear, it’s a magic necklace, it compliments so many different outfits, and worked perfectly with the orange dress!

I needed a bracelet, or cocktail ring, and chose this brownish/gold ring that my roommate bought me for Christmas. It was the perfect finishing touch.

Of course you need a smaller clutch or bag, so I opted to carry my DKNY leather bag which I ‘m still in love with. (I told you I’d get some good use out of it- no buyers remorse ;))

I wanted to do something different with my nails. As you know I picked up the rest of the Gelish Candyland Collection a couple of weeks ago, so thought it’d be the perfect time to try out ‘Don’t Be Such a Sourpuss’. At first I hated it, it looked too green, but in natural light it is a really pretty yellow. I’ve actually been getting a lot of compliments on it. Who would have thought? ๐Ÿ™‚

I broke my thumb nails so I decided ditch the square shape and round everything off for a couple of weeks. I kind of like the round look ๐Ÿ™‚ (sorry for the greasy nails; I had just applied some cuticle oil lol)

My toes I painted with the fabulous Sally Hansen Insta-Dri orange polish that Ashely sent to me in the secret blogger swap. I love it! I can’t wait to use it on my fingernails as well.

Sorry to those skeeved out by feet pictures! LOL

And here you have the final product!

Isn’t my boyfriend adorable? He was all excited about his look as well- he cleans up nice ๐Ÿ˜‰
Another shot with Jackie (my boyfriends cousins girlfriend) ๐Ÿ™‚
Ugh, don’t we all have a bad side? lol..but this was a good accessories pic.

I was very happy with how well everything came together (and the fact that I didn’t spend any money). It pays to buy a couple of extra dresses you love if you randomly find them on sale!

Have you attended any weddings lately? What did you wear?
