This past weekend was my baby shower and I had the best time celebrating our baby boy with my family and friends! I used to be much better about sharing a little recap or photo dump from fun events and ever since reviving my blog, I told myself that I wanted to get back to my roots. I wanted to share things that made me happy, felt authentic, fun, and made me excited! It’s very easy to get caught up in sponsored content and writing posts with the intent of views and clicks, but I’m really over that rat race. If everyone reads these posts, awesome! If it’s just my inner circle here, great (hi!). If no one reads this…it’s all good. This site is for me and I’m here to make blogging fun again. My blog and social media activity basically ceased last week after my Dad suffered a pretty extreme heart attack early Wednesday morning. Only 2% of people survive the type of attack he had – we are all so incredibly lucky he’s still with us today. He’s doing really well and is so, so strong; there’s no doubt in my mind he’s got many active, happy, and healthy years ahead of him; we’re going to make sure of it.
My Mom has got to be the most incredible woman I’ve ever known. There’s really no questioning that. (more…)
Happy Sunday! 🙂
Unfortunately, there’ll be no WIWTW today [I’m sorry!!] It’s been a crazy week + I’m in the process of moving out of my apartment – so my OOTD’s were reallllly not worth documenting. Instead, I wanted to share a little gift guide for Mom since Mother’s Day is just 2 weeks away! 🙂
Both sides of my family are Italian; my Mother’s family is from Ischia — a small Island off the coast of Naples, and my Father’s family is from Calabria, the Southern most point of the country + just a hop skip and a jump away from Sicily. We’ve been to Ischia before [it’s stunning] + actually took a quick day trip so my Dad could see this time around, but we were really excited to spend a little time in Calabria + explore our roots!
