Blogmas 2014 – Day 14: Holiday Party

Happy Blogmas Day 14!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, I’ve been kind of lazy all day, just getting around to this post now.

My girlfriends birthday/holiday party last night was a lot of fun, I got to see so many of my favorite people!

A few snaps: 1) Me, Kelly (birthday girl!), and Erin (recently engaged!) trying to snag a picture together. 2) Cute little napkins. 3) My funky green polish matched my cup. I love when that happens. 4) Selfie with Mike!

1) I made red velvet cupcakes – they turned out so good! Obviously this is the only way to eat a cupcake ;). 2) Singing Happy Birthday…4x because the candle lighting took a while LOL. 3) MORE cute napkins/hand towels spotted in the bathroom. 4) This had us all dying – Kelly had a raffle at her own birthday, hahaha SO cute.

It was a really fun night! We played Cards Against Humanity, which I wonnnnn…although, I don’t really think that’s worth bragging about, but I love that game. So much yummy food, definitely ate myself into a coma last night.

On the way home, we stopped at my cousins house since they were having a holiday party the same night – it was nice to see some fam while I was in the area!

I had a really nice weekend – definitely spent most of today taking it easy.

I had to run out earlier to get my bridesmaid dress for my girlfriends May wedding that was ready for pick up, and I popped into the mall for a *little* shopping…and of course, a soft pretzel.

The remainder of the day included Netflix & napping! This lazy blanket/movie scene looks familiar 😉 – I love The Mistletones – such a cute movie.

I hope that everyone had a great weekend! Time for Sunday night Chinese take-out & an early bed time!

See you tomorrow for Day 15 🙂

XOXO

A Winter Wonderland Wedding!

One of my friends from college, Brianna, got married last weekend! We met while we were both rushing the same sorority in 2007. She is one of the funniest, kindest, most entertaining girls I know, she’s one of the very few people that can just make me laugh hysterically.

I’m so glad that we’ve kept in touch & I’m so happy she invited us to spend her wedding day with her! I wanted to share some of the photo’s I snapped from her special day!

But first a few throwbacks:

Here we are in 2007 at one of our sorority events!
Here we are in 2007 at one of our sorority events! Brianna is lovely red head in the center 🙂
Here we are at our initiation! Looking all young & awkward lol

And here we are in 2009? Over-picniked lol. Extra tan skin & super white teeth. (Anyone else go through a crazy Picnik phase? lol)

I have no photos from her ceremony, because I kind of feel strange using a phone/camera in church. I feel like the bride wants to see smiling faces as she’s walking down the aisle, not cameras (but you should know – the ceremony was gorgeous & very sweet).

So, we begin photos at the cocktail hour:

We walked into cocktail hour & I could not get over this table of prosciutto!
We walked into cocktail hour & I could not get over this table of prosciutto! They had an incredible crudite, fruit, meats & cheese stationary display – as well as some tasty passed apps.
After cocktail hour we entered the ballroom & were blown away by the Winter Wonderland before us! And the monogram - loveee!!

(They had small table tents noting the  hashtag for the event #KottPartyOf2  (which I think is such a fun way for guests to share photos on FB, Instagram & Twitter that you can look back on) – so I snagged this picture from AtmosphereProductions Instagram account)
I stole this picture from Carlgti2010's Instagram account as well. This was our table :)
I stole this picture from Carlgti2010’s Instagram account as well. This was our table – everyone got a huge mason jar filled with hot cocoa, marshmallows, peppermints, chocolate candies & more. I actually  tapped into mine the next day! Do you see the table number? Each table number was a small notebook that asked guests to write notes for the bride & groom to read on their X anniversary. We wrote notes for their third. Such a cute idea 🙂

So, I didn’t catch the bouquet, the girl right in front of me did! …But guess who caught the garter!?

Go figure! I should have known. Mike never loses at anything. One of the girls at our table caught the bouquet so they did their little thing - it was too funny.

...Obviously we had to have one more photo booth experience for good measure :)
…Obviously we had to have one more photo booth experience for good measure 🙂 Right afterwards, we hit up the candy bar & called it a night. A GREAT night at that.

The wedding was so much fun. I’m really glad that I was able to be there to celebrate with Brianna and all of her friends and family! Everything was just perfect.

Sending a huge congrats to Brie & Colin (who are currently in Hawaii!!!) Wishing them a lifetime of love & happiness!

XOXO

Halloween 2013 Recap!

As promised in my previous post, I mentioned that I would share my Halloween costumes! This year I made two 🙂 I celebrated at a fun, low-key, house party last Friday night then went out on Saturday with some friends for a late bar night. I’ve gathered a few of the dozens of pictures I had taken over Halloween weekend to share here. Take a peek below & enjoy!

NIGHT 2: Rihanna. This costume was a tricky one! I really wanted to make it last year, but ran out of time. I still had some of the material so I decided to go for it this year! This is SOOOO not me, which is why it was so much fun 🙂

It was a really fun Halloween weekend! I got to be creative, dress up, spend time with my boyfriend and some of my favorite people, have a few drinks & dance :).

Wondering how I was feeling on Sunday?

That's how.
That’s how.

I’m getting to old for this. Until next year, Halloween! For now, it’s back to my comfort zone of being a little homebody, baking, watching movies & laying low 🙂

What were you for Halloween? I want to know! 🙂

Can You Hear Me? … Loud & Clear!

I don’t know what it is about Spring/Summer, but it is nearly impossible for me to sit down and blog! I hope to start getting back into a posting routine, because I truly do love sharing things on here & it kind of serves as a diary. It’s really fun to be able to look back on certain memories & experiences.

With that said, yesterday was a HUGE day for my boyfriend, Michael Minelli! Many of you know that he is a singer/songwriter/dancer/all-around-everything-I’m-not. If you don’t, you’re about to learn today! He just released his first official single & music video, Can You Hear Me and it is a.m.a.z.i.n.g!

I was lucky enough to kind of see it all come together, and WOW, did it come together! I love to be included in his projects – whether I’m doing makeup, live-tweeting for him, pressing play, promoting, or just being an extra pair of hands, it’s fun to be part of a project and see it come to life. Before posting the official video, I wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures that I took from the shoot.. Enjoy! 🙂

Pre-shoot:

Mike had 6 dancers who worked so hard to help make this video a success. They practiced for a couple months prior to get the choreo & everything just perfect!

I got to play makeup artist to all of the guys for the weekend! I’m a makeup junkie, and do Mike’s for his videos once in a while, so when he asked if I could do all of his dancers too, I was happy to help. They were troopers, even with me chasing them around with blotting sheets and powder all the live long day.

There were a couple more locations on day 1, but I was all over the place & didn’t get to snap them all!

No matter how tired or sweaty, I’ve always gotta snag the last pic. These are the things we’ll look back at one day and say “remember when” 😉

Months of preparation, two full days of filming, a week+ of editing & here it’s finally here! Michael Minelli’s first single & music video: Can You Hear Me?

PLAY IT. ENJOY IT. SHARE IT XOXO
