2014 Emmy Fashion Favorites

Back to back red carpets?! What a fun treat to make my first week back from vacation a little more exciting [vaca post in the works]!

I posted my faves and fails of the VMA fashion on Monday & couldn’t help but whip up another blog for the swoon-worthy Emmy looks as well.

First off, my least favorite:

I'm SO SORRY Lena, I love you. You're brilliant. Your dress hurts my heart.

My most FAVORITE look of the night came from Modern Family actress, Sarah Hyland.

I couldn’t stop googling pictures of her on the red carpet! The dress, the colors, the hair, jewels, makeup, polish, everything – stunning. I’d wear this entire ensemble in a heartbeat!! Perfection!
Even if she did have a shoe meltdown. Girl after my own heart, I could see myself freaking out & doing the same. It was kind of funny -read about it here.

Another note-worthy contender for Best Dressed goes to Julia Roberts.

A) She's glowing. B) Her dress is such a healthy balance of style, class, and youth. C) Her legs are insane.

There was so much fabulousness at the Emmys, it put the VMA’s to shame!

What were your favorite & least favorite looks of the night?

Day in NY to See Bethenny!

My Mom called me last week asking if I wanted to go with her to Bethenny’s talk show. Being the Bravo housewife fanatic that I am, and having NEVER been to the live-taping of a show, I immediately took her up on her offer! The show she got tickets to was filming on Wednesday afternoon, so I took the day off. I rarely take a day off, but could not pass up the fun opportunity & a day spent with my Mom :).

I drove to my parents house Tuesday night since we were going to be leaving very early the next morning [and so I could do the 80 loads of laundry that had been sitting in my bedroom for weeks].

After a late night & an early wake up call, I was grateful for the train station that was right around the corner from our home. It worked out perfectly [a direct ride with no transfers to Grand Central, yes please!]

We got into the city around 10/10:30 & grabbed a quick breakfast before heading over to the CBS studios. Quick side note- I really love New York [and believe me, this is a fairly recent love]. Being there in the middle of the week is such a treat, it’s like a completely different world. I’d like to live in the city at some point in my life. Ok, back to the day. So, we got to the studios and had to wait outside for a bit so that they could prep for the show & dismiss the audience from the earlier taping.

Obviously, this was the perfect opportunity to snap some pictures.

Once we got through security, there was more waiting & shuffling around – which was cool because we got to see some fun parts of the studio…

We finally made it onto the set which was really adorable! My Mom spotted quite a few HomeGoods pieces haha.

We couldn’t take pictures during the taping [bummer] so I tried to snap a few before everything began.

Sometimes she come's on set from a place of YES. Wasn't the case this day, she entered from the back & spent the entire show in the audience.

We didn’t think that there would be any exciting guests, but we we’re pleasantly surprised! The show featured a panel with 4 “celebrity guests” Charlemagne Tha God from Guy Code, Bevy Smith from Bravo’s Fashion Queens & two others who I was SO excited to see: Tracy DiMarco from Jerseylicious & N*Sync royalty, Lance Bass! 🙂

They taped for about an hour and there was SO much audience participation. I didn’t answer any Q’s because I’m kind of shy & really didn’t have much to say haha, but nearly EVERYONE in front, behind & to the left & right of us did – so watch for us wallflowers on TV when the episode airs 😉

Charlemagne with some fans after the show (everyone else ran out of there!) He apparently got himself into some trouble on her show before & he definitely didn't hold back on this episode!

After the show, we made our way to a cute little French spot for lunch! My Mom had a Croque Monsieur [my fave!] and I had a yummy ham, mushroom, swiss & bechamel crepe. It was such a cute little find & everything was so good!

We made our way back to Grand Central after lunch [transportation with a deadline stresses me out, I’m always terrified of missing the train/plane/bus, and believe me, it’s happened before]! But we made it with plenty of time. We stopped at the Magnolia Bakery in GC to grab a coffee & cupcake for the ride home.

Cafe Mocha - yum!

We saved these for until we got home! A coconut for Mom & a red velvet for me :)

It was a really fun day – we had a lot of laughs! I’m happy to be home, in my jammies, with my feet up as I write this! As much as I love NY, it always takes so much out of me. I’m ready for a good nights sleep before going back to work tomorrow!

Have you ever been to the taping of a talk show? Who did you see?

2013 CMA Fashion!

Who watched the CMA’s last night?! I worked my way down the red carpet noting some of my favorite & not-so-fave looks from 2013 Country Music Awards – check them out 🙂

Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood –  H U M A N – P E R F E C T I O N .  Always.
Jana Kramer
Jana Kramer. I have mixed feelings about this dress. She’s such a beautiful girl, and can really pull off anything, but this outfit feel’s so dark & winter-y. Not my favorite, but I’m sure she was at least comfortable!
Kacey Musgraves. Not sure how I'm feeling about this dress, I wish it were just a mini - I don't think that the extra sheer fabric was necessary.

Miranda Lambert. Girl is bringing the color! She's definitely lost a little weight as well, she looks amazing.

Kellie Pickler. I LOVE her in this dress. She looks so vampy & sexy. Such a flattering fit!

Taylor Swift. She looks flawless, but this is not my favorite look.
Taylor Swift. She looks flawless, but this is not my favorite. The dress ages her a bit, and I swear I thought she was rocking a mullet at first glance.
Lucy Hale. I think there's too much nude, she looks washed out, and the dress looks kind of heavy on her.

Cassadee Pope. Fabulous fit & the straightest, shiniest hair EVER!

Jennifer Nettles. I'm seeing a trend. Refer to Carrie Underwood & Kacey Musgraves - I think that all of these dresses should have just stopped mid thigh.

Faith Hill. I don't think anyone ages as graceful as this woman! I would have loved to see some long curls on her though!

Kimberly - The Band Perry. Okay, this dress definitely looks like a curtain, but for some reason, I'm LOVING it! Not to mention, her hair and makeup looks so fresh!

Colbie Caillat. Too cute! She did what I wish Carrie, Jennifer & Kacey would have done with their dresses. LOVE!

Carrie Underwood's wardrobe changes. Source.
Carrie Underwood Wardrobe Changes Part 1. (1) The high waisted slacks & crop top was cute & she pulled it off. (2) I didn’t care for the pink floral gown live, but I’m liking it a bit more in pictures. (3) The red carpet dress & HMU was an overall win for me! (4)  The monologue outfit seemed so heavy & sloppy, but I can’t even rag on this woman, when you’re as classy as her & have those legs you can wear whatever you want lol. Source.
Carrie Underwood's wardrobe changes pt. 2. Source.
Carrie Underwood’s wardrobe changes Part  2. It’s hard for her to do wrong in my eyes, but she could have done much better. Out of the above, I liked her performance outfit & wavy locks (2)  and the metallic gown & chignon (3)  best.  Source.

I think that Kellie Pickler may have been my hands-down favorite of the night!

What are your favorite looks from the CMA’s this year?
