I love everything about October – the pumpkins, the foliage, the candy, the weather, Halloween …I cannot believe that it’s already over! I had such a great month & I wanted to recap some of the festive fun!
October via pictures :)…
October was such a fun month! I definitely didn’t capture everything that happened (and WordPress wouldn’t let me upload a handful of photos), but I thought that I’d share the pictures that I could. 🙂
I’m really looking forward to the next couple of months, I LOVE the holidays. Ahhh, so excited just thinking about it!
Are you looking forward to Thanksgiving/Christmas?
I love to read – more so for entertainment than education – but regardless, there’s something about finishing a book that feels like a darn good accomplishment. I wish I did it more.
Labor Day weekend, my hometown library puts on a HUGE book fair that sells everything from books to DVDs to records to games to magazines – all in great condition, and all SUPER cheap [like $.50-$3 dollars cheap]. My Mom & I like to go together & scope it out. Lucky for me, I picked up a ton of great books from some of my favorite authors- for only $7!
I can’t wait to read them all! 🙂
While on the subject of books, I always find myself reading the most in the Summer months. This year especially, I was able to get a few great reads in.
One of which [although a little late to the game], I was SO glad I could get my hands on…
After hearing that the film would be coming out in October, I was dying to read Gone Girl! My Mom lent it to me and I couldn’t put it down. What a story. Really bizarre concept, super strange ending, interesting characters, and twist & turns for days!
I cannot wait for this movie – especially since there’s an alternate ending! See the trailer here:
Also – have you seen Amy Dunne’s Pinterest page?! It is the creepiest/strangest/coolest thing ever. I have a hunch that social profiles for fictional characters are about to be popping up all over the place! Check it out here.
I began really putting in the effort to grow my nails at the end of July (about 6 weeks ago)…and it’s paid off! I’ve done nothing particularly special other than be extra careful when doing anything with my hands – always wearing dish gloves, NOT using my nails as tools, and applying cuticle oil like crazy!
I’ve definitely seen some serious growth & have pretty much reached my ideal length; now it’s time for the tricky part – keeping them long & strong!
I’m thrilled to have my nails back. Growing them out takes some time & determination, but it’s definitely worth it!
I’m looking forward to my next mani [maybe on Thursday] so I can re-shape & give them a fresh coat of polish.
I’m currently in the process of growing my nails out. Woof.
This time last year, I had some serious claws – and I miss them!!
I go back and forth between wanting long nails & super short nails. I’ve had baby nails for a couple months now, so I’m currently longing for some growth. 🙂
Being cursed with thin & weak nails, the *only* way for me to see serious growth is via gel manicures. These manicures last me [a week, minimum] & do a great job at preventing nearly all splitting or breakage. SO, a gel mani was in order…
QUICK SIDE NOTE: I tweeted a photo of my mani last the weekend & got some social media love from Gelish [so fun]! At least they think my nails look amazing. 😉
Since I’m trying to make my manicures last as long as possible during these growing pains, I’ve been using my little manicure-lasting trick…
I’ve been able to prove time & time again, that if I paint over my gel manicure with regular polish, the mani lasts at least twice as long.
I was really loving my Garden Teal Party and wanted to paint over it with a similar shade. I recently had these polishes delivered in my Julep Maven boxes…
Julep – Tazeen & Lissa. LOVE!
The teal was exactly the color that I was looking for, but I was dying to use this amazing full coverage glitter as well – so I opted for an accent nail on my ring finger. Stupid me wasn’t paying close attention while I was painting my second hand and I painted right over my ring finger with the teal. SO, I compromised & made my index finger on my right hand the accent nail. I can’t say that the mis-match has been bothering much!
Here’s to hoping this mani lasts me another week! Come onnnnnn long nailllllllsss!
In the meantime, I’ll continue to drench them in cuticle oil every hour. 🙂
