Who watched the CMA’s last night?! I worked my way down the red carpet noting some of my favorite & not-so-fave looks from 2013 Country Music Awards – check them out 🙂
Carrie Underwood – H U M A N – P E R F E C T I O N . Always.Jana Kramer. I have mixed feelings about this dress. She’s such a beautiful girl, and can really pull off anything, but this outfit feel’s so dark & winter-y. Not my favorite, but I’m sure she was at least comfortable!Kacey Musgraves. Not sure how I’m feeling about this either, I wish it were a mini – I don’t think that the extra sheer fabric was necessary.Miranda Lambert. Girl is bringing the color! It looks like she definitely lost a little weight, no? I thought she looked great. Good choice, M!Kellie Pickler. I LOVE her in this dress. She looks so vampy & sexy. Such a flattering fit! Source.Taylor Swift. She looks flawless, but this is not my favorite. The dress ages her a bit, and I swear I thought she was rocking a mullet at first glance.Lucy Hale. I think there’s too much nude, she looks washed out, and the dress weighs her down a bit. Excited to hear she’s coming out with a country album though!Cassadee Pope. Fabulous fit & the straightest, shiniest hair EVER!Jennifer Nettles. I’m seeing a trend. Refer to Carrie Underwood & Kacey Musgraves – I think that all of these dresses should have just stopped mid thigh.Faith Hill. I don’t think anyone ages as graceful as this woman! I would have loved to see some long curls on her though!Kimberly – The Band Perry. Okay, this dress definitely looks like a curtain, but for some reason, I’m LOVING it! Not to mention, her hair and makeup looks so fresh!Colbie Caillat. Too cute! She did what I wish Carrie, Jennifer & Kacey would have done with their dresses lol. LOVE!Carrie what are they putting you in?! Those legs though!!!Carrie Underwood Wardrobe Changes Part 1. (1) The high waisted slacks & crop top was cute & she pulled it off. (2) I didn’t care for the pink floral gown live, but I’m liking it a bit more in pictures. (3) The red carpet dress & HMU was an overall win for me! (4) The monologue outfit seemed so heavy & sloppy, but I can’t even rag on this woman, when you’re as classy as her & have those legs you can wear whatever you want lol. Source.Carrie Underwood’s wardrobe changes Part 2. It’s hard for her to do wrong in my eyes, but she could have done much better. Out of the above, I liked her performance outfit & wavy locks (2) and the metallic gown & chignon (3) best. Source.
I think that Kellie Pickler may have been my hands-down favorite of the night!
What are your favorite looks from the CMA’s this year?
(Please note that these are not my photos. Sources have been noted when possible. The remaining have been pulled from Twitter)
Let me start by acknowledging my little announcement last night that I was going to boycott the Grammys …
…myself, and the rest of New England have literally been snowed in for 3 days now. I cannot tell you how many movies, re-runs, and mindless television I’ve watched – talk about stir crazy/cabin fever.
Mid-blizzardPost-blizzard. So much snow!
However, I couldn’t help but watch the live red carpet on E! It’s not that easy to opt out of all that fashion! I had so much fun blogging about the stars’ outfits last year … and who could forget that Louboutin Manicure?!
So, without further ado – let’s get to it. Here are my picks for the best dressed at the 2013 Grammy Awards:
Shaun Robinson: (waiting for confirmation on designer) Looking fabulous in purple!
Nazanin Mandi (Miguels’ Girlfriend): (waiting for confirmation on designer) I love when the stars have a significant other who is a red carpet star in their own right! Last year at the ACM’s it was Lacey Buchanan, Jake Owens then girlfriend, this year it was Miguels lady! Cute LBD & fun hair. She makes her man look good – hot hot hot!
J.Lo: Anthony Vaccarello. The woman is rock solid & looked amazing in this black gown!
Faith Hill: J. Mendel. There’s a lot of chatter about this dress, but I think she looked great! It fits her like a glove and the beading was so fun! Side note: did anyone else see the serious rock on her pinky finger!?
Kelly Rowland: Georges Chakra. More often than not I find Kelly Rowland on my list of best dressed. This black geometric, cutout number looks incredible on her!
Rihanna: Custom Azzedine Alaia. Rihanna is usually a total hit or a total miss – I have to say, what a pleasant surprise to see her so cute & cleaned up tonight! LOVE!
Those were some of my red carpet highlights! Unfortunately, I was disappointed with Carrie Underwood & Beyonce – they both looked great, but I think that they could of done something a little more fun! Maybe next year.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve loved the addition of the mani-cam to these awards shows. It might be more exciting to me than the red carpet itself! My Mom is too funny – I think that being the person who gets to man the mani-cam may be on my list of dream jobs. 😉
Who were some of your favorites on the 2013 Grammy Red Carpet?
I tuned into the 40th Annual American Music Awards on Sunday night for obvious reasons- the fashion!
There was an overwhelming amount of golds, nudes, and sequins on the carpet this year & I loved it!
Here were my picks for the best dressed of the night:
Gotta give credit to Carly Rae Jepsen! I love this dress – she looks so simple & elegant…plus, I’m a sucker for sequins 🙂Heidi Klum is always stunning, but she is truly radiant in gold! This dress reminds of a spiced up version of Britney’s black lace mini at the VMA’s circa 2001. CreditOne of my favorite Taylor Swift dresses to date! I adore everything about this look! Make up, hair, shoes – adore! Credit.I think it’s impossible for me NOT to include Carrie Underwood on a Best Dressed list. She never fails to impress – I’ve said it a bajillion times – human perfection! Credit.Jenny McCarthy is one hot mama!! I love this look! Credit.Kelly Rowland always impresses as well! She looked fabulous in this mini! Credit.Normally, Nicki Minaj confuses the life out of me when it comes to her red carpet appearances – I’m always trying to figure out what message she is attempting to send with her out of the ordinary looks – but at the AMA’s this year, she actually looked adorably put together. This lime green / yellow Monique Lhuillier gown was very flattering to her figure – I must say…love it :). Credit.
Who do you think had the best Red Carpet look at the AMA’s this year?
Another awards show, another chance to oogle the amazing red carpet dresses! I’m a huge country music fan, I think that as a whole, country artists are the classiest, sweetest breed of musicians…and it refelcts in their attire.
I love that they all put in the effort to look fashionable, respectable, and professional at awards shows that are based around adkowledging them, and their music. It’s refreshing to see an awards show that has not turned into a mockery/Halloween party. (Cough, cough…the Grammys)
The Academy of Country Music Awards did not disappoint this year!
Here are my picks for best dressed…
(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) Jake Owens beautiful girlfriend, Lacey Buchanan. She's not even an artist, but hey...you've got to give credit where credit is due! She looked amazing at the ACMs!(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) Taylor Swift is seriously stepping up her fashion game! She looked so chic and mature in this J. Mendel white column gown!(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) The amazing Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland wins my vote because she brought some Spring color to the carpet! She looks amazing in this pink chiffon and lace dress...and the sparkly yellow empire belt makes it that much more girly and fun 🙂
One more for good measure…
(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) I've said it before and I'll say it again...Carrie Underwood is human perfection! She can do no wrong when it comes to fashion... she always secures a top 3 best dressed position in my book. 😉
Who did you think was the best dressed at the ACM’s this year?
Another awards show has come and gone, and boy was it an interesting one.
We watched at our apartment and filled up on far too many finger foods! (I was on a roll in the kitchen yesterday!)
Rice crispies, fresh mozz, bruschetta, pigs in a blanket, nachos and peanut butter cookies 🙂
We all got our tweeting fingers ready and settled in for the pre-show (obviously the best part ;))
Let’s start with the red carpet- the good, the bad, and the ugly! We’ll get the bad out of the way…and let me be clear…it was quite difficult to narrow it down.
1) I love Nicki Minaj- it’s hard not to love her. But between this sac-religious mockery, and her on stage exorcism…I just don’t get. But I guess that’s what makes her Nicki! *Sigh*
2) Who even is this? Her ploy to get me to google her didn’t work.
3) Fergie deemed this dress the “safe” choice. Honestly, if she had cute little black underwear on as opposed to the control top spanx, it would have saved the dress.
On to my faves!
4) I’ve got to give props to Giuliana, she’s not even an artist, but she might as well have been! This skinny mini always looks adorable, but I LOVED her LBD and gold belt last night- a nice little ode to the Grammys 😉 She’s so cute!
5) Kelly Rowland looked STUNNING. She’s so talented, classy, and professional- this completely exudes that.
I couldn’t help but notice her hair was very Jessica Simpson-esque circa 2005 (@ the MTV Movie Awards).
Ugh, I died for J. Simps- she was such a babe.
6) And then there was Carrie Underwood- this woman is so perfectly beautiful, talented, and absolutely phenomenal that she can do no wrong. Out of all the high neck-long sleeved dresses last night, she is the only one that I think was able to pull it off flawlessly!
As for the show, I think that Jennifer Hudson did such an amazing job with her Whitney Tribute! However, I couldn’t help waiting for her double, wearing white, to come out and sing next to her. I’ve been brainwashed by weight watchers!
Taylor Swift is my girl, she did her thing with Mean!
And of course Adele was the big winner, every time she got to the mic she reminded me of Bridget Jones lol- she was cute, she deserved all that she got! (AND she had a Louboutin mani! LOVEEE!)
Rihanna’s performance was fun, but I officially prefer my boyfriends version of “We Found Love” over the original! Check it out 🙂
