My Mom called me last week asking if I wanted to go with her to Bethenny’s talk show. Being the Bravo housewife fanatic that I am, and having NEVER been to the live-taping of a show, I immediately took her up on her offer! The show she got tickets to was filming on Wednesday afternoon, so I took the day off. I rarely take a day off, but could not pass up the fun opportunity & a day spent with my Mom :).
I drove to my parents house Tuesday night since we were going to be leaving very early the next morning [and so I could do the 80 loads of laundry that had been sitting in my bedroom for weeks].
After a late night & an early wake up call, I was grateful for the train station that was right around the corner from our home. It worked out perfectly [a direct ride with no transfers to Grand Central, yes please!]

We got into the city around 10/10:30 & grabbed a quick breakfast before heading over to the CBS studios. Quick side note- I really love New York [and believe me, this is a fairly recent love]. Being there in the middle of the week is such a treat, it’s like a completely different world. I’d like to live in the city at some point in my life. Ok, back to the day. So, we got to the studios and had to wait outside for a bit so that they could prep for the show & dismiss the audience from the earlier taping.

Once we got through security, there was more waiting & shuffling around – which was cool because we got to see some fun parts of the studio…

We finally made it onto the set which was really adorable! My Mom spotted quite a few HomeGoods pieces haha.

We couldn’t take pictures during the taping [bummer] so I tried to snap a few before everything began.

We didn’t think that there would be any exciting guests, but we we’re pleasantly surprised! The show featured a panel with 4 “celebrity guests” Charlemagne Tha God from Guy Code, Bevy Smith from Bravo’s Fashion Queens & two others who I was SO excited to see: Tracy DiMarco from Jerseylicious & N*Sync royalty, Lance Bass! 🙂
They taped for about an hour and there was SO much audience participation. I didn’t answer any Q’s because I’m kind of shy & really didn’t have much to say haha, but nearly EVERYONE in front, behind & to the left & right of us did – so watch for us wallflowers on TV when the episode airs 😉

After the show, we made our way to a cute little French spot for lunch! My Mom had a Croque Monsieur [my fave!] and I had a yummy ham, mushroom, swiss & bechamel crepe. It was such a cute little find & everything was so good!

We made our way back to Grand Central after lunch [transportation with a deadline stresses me out, I’m always terrified of missing the train/plane/bus, and believe me, it’s happened before]! But we made it with plenty of time. We stopped at the Magnolia Bakery in GC to grab a coffee & cupcake for the ride home.

It was a really fun day – we had a lot of laughs! I’m happy to be home, in my jammies, with my feet up as I write this! As much as I love NY, it always takes so much out of me. I’m ready for a good nights sleep before going back to work tomorrow!
Have you ever been to the taping of a talk show? Who did you see?
