Spontaneous Spring Shopping

The other night I randomly decided to go shopping, I needed to find some outfits for a couple of upcoming parties/events I was going to. I was trying to avoid Nordstroms because I know that they have this adorable coral Kate Spade Bag that I have literally been having dreams about, but am not ready to drop $500 on…

Isn't she so pretty? 🙂 Sigh. It may be an early birthday gift to myself...

So I took a trip to Marshalls instead- I was so excited with my finds! (Well most of them)

I tried on this super cute pants/jumpsuit, but it was SO huge! I was literally swimming/tripping over it. 🙁

I guess us short girls have to stick to our rompers… 😉

Ahh...can't wait for Summer country concerts 🙂

So, back to my shopping trip… I was looking for color! I’ve been trying to buy more (only) colorful clothes lately. Look at how cute these two dresses that I snagged are!

This green dress is perfect for summer- I actually thought it was a romper when I picked it up. It's so light and can be dressed up for work, or down for a picnic/weekend. I was excited about this find, and it was only $17 🙂
This was the winning ticket...I'm in love with this dress! Aside from the vibrant orange color, it is so comfortable, forgiving, and it was only $25 🙂

I was so thrilled with my dress finds, and I was completely content… until I walked by this black DKNY purse. I just could not turn away (probably because it reminded me of my Kate Spade dream bag :(…)! Every time I walked by I found myself picking it up, trying it on, feeling the ridiculously smooth leather, then putting it back. But every time I left I’d immediately turn right back around to make sure nobody else had grabbed it. The more I thought about it, I figured it’d be the perfect purse for work, going out, or any special occasion…and truthfully I don’t have a small bag like that. I had to have it…

Swoon!

When I got home I discovered all of it’s functionalities! It appears as a traditional 2-strap handbag, but can be converted to a 1-strap shoulder or cross body bag. How convenient. My purchase was justified 🙂

AND when I opened it up, I discovered that it came with a sham tucked inside! That is very rare for a Marshalls purchase!

What have you picked up lately? Anything fun or colorful?

2012 ACM Best Dressed

Another awards show, another chance to oogle the amazing red carpet dresses! I’m a huge country music fan, I think that as a whole, country artists are the classiest, sweetest breed of musicians…and it refelcts in their attire.

I love that they all put in the effort to look fashionable, respectable, and professional at awards shows that are based around adkowledging them, and their music. It’s refreshing to see an awards show that has not turned into a mockery/Halloween party. (Cough, cough…the Grammys)

The Academy of Country Music Awards did not disappoint this year!

Here are my picks for best dressed…

(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) Jake Owens beautiful girlfriend, Lacey Buchanan. She's not even an artist, but hey...you've got to give credit where credit is due! She looked amazing at the ACMs!
(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) Taylor Swift is seriously stepping up her fashion game! She looked so chic and mature in this J. Mendel white column gown!
(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) The amazing Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland wins my vote because she brought some Spring color to the carpet! She looks amazing in this pink chiffon and lace dress...and the sparkly yellow empire belt makes it that much more girly and fun 🙂

One more for good measure…

(Photo credit OMG!Yahoo) I've said it before and I'll say it again...Carrie Underwood is human perfection! She can do no wrong when it comes to fashion... she always secures a top 3 best dressed position in my book. 😉

Who did you think was the best dressed at the ACM’s this year?

Bringing My Wardrobe to Life!

I am completely guilty of having a pretty dull wardrobe- lots of grey and black! With this recent Spring/Summer weather we’ve been having I decided it was time to step it up! I told myself that from here on out, when shopping,  I would ONLY buy colorful clothes. I put my maxxinista skills to work at Marshalls, TJ’s, some consignment spots, Forever 21, and H&M over the past few weeks.

Here are some of my recent, *colorful* purchases…

I've been on the hunt for colorful skinny jeans and I've finally found the best pairs of fuchsia and peach! Only yellow and green left 🙂

New shoes! 🙂

A pair of camel suede slingback Guess heels ($22 at Marshalls!), and a brand new pair of gold cork Charlotte Russe wedges (on sale for $10).

Lots of chunky new necklaces…

A new bag, belts and hair accessories…

My Latest Obsession…

Here’s a little Spring color to brighten up the dreary Winter day we are having on the East Coast. I had a dream the other night that I bought a pair of fuchsia skinny jeans, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since!

I have red, pink, grey, and blue skinny jeans that I adore, but I’m ready to expand to my collection for the Spring/Summer months. I’m officially on a hunt for pairs of fuchsia, peach, yellow, and greens!

Gap, Express, J. Crew, and Pac Sun have all been recommended to me by some lovely twitter followers.

Where have you found the comfiest pair?

Valentines Day Inspired Mani

As you know, I am in love with my gel manicures– when I was home for the Superbowl I did the cutest Valentines Day inspired Gelish mani on my sister, and I couldn’t wait to share.

We used three Gelish mini colors:

Stand Out is more vibrantly red than the above image, we decided to paint that on her thumb and pinky nails, Rendezvous dries much more hot pink, we put that on her index and ring nails and Exhale, a light pink/mauve color went on her middle.

I love how this manicure came out- it’s still clean, but it has a fun twist. We even considered adding a small white heart to a couple of fingers.

Valentines Day is one of my favorite holidays, and pairing it with a cute manicure makes it that much better. 🙂

What will your V-Day mani look like?
