Happy Monday! Is anyone else really looking forward to this Thanksgiving week? It marks the official kick off to the holiday season and just an all around happy time! The air is filled with joy, love, good vibes …and I for one, couldn’t be more excited about it.
Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!!!!
One of my favorite holidays π
You can be sure that I will be wearing my black and orange today AND indulging in all things Halloween. I wish I could say I’d be passing out candy tonight, but 3 years ago, my roommate & I learned the hard way when we bought 12 lbs of candy in anticipation of the dozens of children that would be ringing the doorbell at our condo complex…needless to say, we had a whopping Z-E-R-O come by. We ended up feasting on a wide variety of Mars & Hershey products for weeks. Evidence:

So tonight I plan to bake some treats, watch a couple Halloween classics, and work on my costumes. Eeee!
Can I just tell you how much I LOVE making my costume every year?! I really got into when I was in college. After perusing some of those photos, I’ve opted not to post any pictures because…. well, I’m a working woman. Not that they were anything offensive, or crazy inappropriate, but you know how college goes.Β Regardless, I still loved them – I was really able to tap into my creative side & in turn, now adore this holiday even more!
With that said, I have two costumes this year! I will write a post about them sometime next week since I won’t be wearing either until the weekend. I’m really excited about them for many reasons, one being that I’ve never personally seen anyone wear either π
Here’s a sneak peek:

So, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!
Be sure to paint your nails, bake some cookies, dress up, eat lots of caramel apples, carve a pumpkin and watch lots of scary movies today!!

Be safe! XO
Family Fun: Black Friday
So this year on Black Friday…..I slept in and avoided the madness, because that is not my style lol.
I actually had a lovely day with my Mom & Sister! We decided to run some errands together & grab lunch.
One of my favorite things about going home is that I never have to worry about packing anything cute, because I have full access to my little sisters wardrobe – which gives mine a run for its money. I picked out this great sweater to wear on Friday- it had a pocket in the front and a lace up back! It was so comfortable, I would have definitely taken it home if she hadn’t just bought it lol.

The three of us went to lunch at O’Neils, a small local spot that we love – they have the yummiest sandwiches!

Afterwards, we went shopping to pick up some things to send in a care package to my cousin Donny who is currently serving over seas.

My Aunt has been collecting items from family members, friends and co-workers to send to his unit, so we picked up some things they’ve been asking for.

We had a lot of fun shopping for them!
**Quick pause for a mini Spanish Christmas Jam-Sesh**:

Black Friday was a lot of fun this year! I never do the crazy early-morning shopping madness thing – I’m more of a cyber Monday chick ;), but it was fun to spend time with my family, shop for others & pick out some jewelry for the holidays!
Family Christmas Tree!
The weekend after Thanksgiving I love putting up the Christmas tree & decorating the house with my Mom & Sister – my Dad & Brother usually opt out…I think they were golfing this year lol. We always play Mariah Carey’s Christmas album, dance around & just enjoy the day. We don’t purchase a real tree anymore, when we were all younger we were insistent on finding the tallest, fullest tree there was – we’ve since invested in a phenomenal pre-lit fake that is just as effective, 80% less the hassle & looks even better!

I love our ornament collection because each one has some kind of memory, joke, or sentiment to it. There are even a few faces on the tree π

Naturally, after all of that work it was manicure time!

I love spending time at my parents house during the holidays. It’s so warm, festive & comfortable. It’s so darn hard to make my apartment feel that way! …Stay tuned for that post though…we did make an effort!
Do you and your family have a Christmas decorating tradition?
2012 Fall Favorites
Fall is one of my favorite times of year…the colors, smells, food, and fashion- to die! Not so lucky for us on the East Coast, this Fall has been aggressively interrupted by Hurricane Sandy, and most recently this friendly little Nor’easter named Athena. While my state, and town are currently buried in fresh white snow, I wanted to bring it back and remember that regardless of what we may feel…winter is not here yet!
To help get back in the mind set, I picked out some of my absolute favorite things about Fall 2012 thus far- enjoy!

Those are just a few of my favorite things this season! What are you loving about Fall this year? Let me know π
