Fall Shoe Shopping

I did some serious Fall shopping a couple of weeks ago, included in that spree was some shoe shopping. Β I went to Mandees; I hadn’t been there in a while, but they are always good for finding fabulous, and affordable shoes! Lucky for me, they were having a buy one, get one half off sale, so I decided to stock up for the season!

Let me start by sharing some depressing news…lately I’ve been having a harder time wearing heels, my feet just don’t enjoy them like they used to *MAJOR SIGH*. Not only do heels feel sexier and more fun than flats, but they give me an extra few inches to my already miniature 5′ .5″ self. While I’m not swearing them off altogether, I decided it was time to invest in some comfortable flats.

Fortunately, I found a few adorable pairs:

A simple brown suede
Black and gold alligator-esque shoes
Blue suede! I have actually been dying for a pair of blue suede shoes for a while!

Obviously during a BOGO, I couldn’t ignore the heels! So I picked up a few pairs that will serve me well.

Nude pumps- awful lighting πŸ™
Black suede, double buckle Mary Jane-ish pumps. I am dying to pair these with black tights and a skirt ASAP!
Black pumps with a gold toe! I was drawn to these, I had to take them home with me πŸ˜‰

Naturally I had to peruse the accessories…

I snagged this blue Nine West clutch with optional chain link strap
…And this gold plated necklace…as my roomie would say my “Walk Like an Egyptian” necklace LOL

Mandees had so many great pumps, flats and boots! I need to get back ASAP and pick up a few other pairs I had been eyeing… something about taking multiple trips to the same store, and making multiple purchases makes spending money not as bad.

What are you wearing on your feet this season? Let me know where you found some great Fall shoes!

PS: For the mani lovers, here are my most recent:

Started with Gelish “Skinny Vanilla Latte”…
…it was too light for the season so I ended up putting a couple coats of Gelish “Black Cherry Berry” on top πŸ™‚

I just changed my polish color this afternoon…stay tuned for that pic! πŸ˜‰

XOXO

Orange Ya Glad You Bought That Dress?!

Okay, totally tacky post title, but you’ll see how it’s relevant πŸ˜‰

I went to a wedding over the weekend, and had little time to put an outfit together. It was a day wedding, so I didn’t need to dress too formal. I was on a time crunch and a budget, see how it all came together below πŸ™‚

Remember this Cynthia Rowley dress I had snagged at Marshalls a couple of months ago? It came in handy πŸ™‚

I went shoe shopping for some fun new heels, but was completely out of luck! Nearly every store was stocked with wedges, or ginormous, chunky, color-blocked heels. Neither of which was the look I wanted to go with. I went back home and decided my leopard print heels would do just fine. (When I told my boyfriend I was just going to wear these shoes he said “Aren’t animal print shoes trashy?” HA! I told him no, a hint of animal print is completely in style, and he would be surprised by how well they’ll work with the outfit.) A told you so moment πŸ˜‰

Side note- I tweeted a picture of these shoes a while ago and was asked where I got them, and I honestly don’t remember! They’re actually are over 6 years old- I wore them to my High School graduation ceremony! lol

The dress had a high neck, so I was debating whether or not I should wear a necklace. Ultimately, it seemed too plain so I opted to wear these chunky warm toned & gold beads which I’ve had for a while- I swear, it’s a magic necklace, it compliments so many different outfits, and worked perfectly with the orange dress!

I needed a bracelet, or cocktail ring, and chose this brownish/gold ring that my roommate bought me for Christmas. It was the perfect finishing touch.

Of course you need a smaller clutch or bag, so I opted to carry my DKNY leather bag which I ‘m still in love with. (I told you I’d get some good use out of it- no buyers remorse ;))

I wanted to do something different with my nails. As you know I picked up the rest of the Gelish Candyland Collection a couple of weeks ago, so thought it’d be the perfect time to try out ‘Don’t Be Such a Sourpuss’. At first I hated it, it looked too green, but in natural light it is a really pretty yellow. I’ve actually been getting a lot of compliments on it. Who would have thought? πŸ™‚

I broke my thumb nails so I decided ditch the square shape and round everything off for a couple of weeks. I kind of like the round look πŸ™‚ (sorry for the greasy nails; I had just applied some cuticle oil lol)

My toes I painted with the fabulous Sally Hansen Insta-Dri orange polish that Ashely sent to me in the secret blogger swap. I love it! I can’t wait to use it on my fingernails as well.

Sorry to those skeeved out by feet pictures! LOL

And here you have the final product!

Isn’t my boyfriend adorable? He was all excited about his look as well- he cleans up nice πŸ˜‰
Another shot with Jackie (my boyfriends cousins girlfriend) πŸ™‚
Ugh, don’t we all have a bad side? lol..but this was a good accessories pic.

I was very happy with how well everything came together (and the fact that I didn’t spend any money). It pays to buy a couple of extra dresses you love if you randomly find them on sale!

Have you attended any weddings lately? What did you wear?
