A Winter Wonderland Wedding!

One of my friends from college, Brianna, got married last weekend! We met while we were both rushing the same sorority in 2007. She is one of the funniest, kindest, most entertaining girls I know, she’s one of the very few people that can just make me laugh hysterically.

I’m so glad that we’ve kept in touch & I’m so happy she invited us to spend her wedding day with her! I wanted to share some of the photo’s I snapped from her special day!

But first a few throwbacks:

Here we are in 2007 at one of our sorority events!

Here we are at our initiation! Looking all young & awkward lol

And here we are in 2009? Over-picniked lol. Extra tan skin & super white teeth. (Anyone else go through a crazy Picnik phase? lol)

I have no photos from her ceremony, because I kind of feel strange using a phone/camera in church. I feel like the bride wants to see smiling faces as she’s walking down the aisle, not cameras (but you should know – the ceremony was gorgeous & very sweet).

So, we begin photos at the cocktail hour:

We walked into cocktail hour & I could not get over this table of prosciutto!
We walked into cocktail hour & I could not get over this table of prosciutto! They had an incredible crudite, fruit, meats & cheese stationary display – as well as some tasty passed apps.
After cocktail hour we entered the ballroom & were blown away by the Winter Wonderland before us! And the monogram - loveee!!

(They had small table tents noting the ย hashtag for the event #KottPartyOf2 ย (which I think is such a fun way for guests to share photos on FB, Instagram & Twitter that you can look back on) – so I snagged this picture from AtmosphereProductions Instagram account)
I stole this picture from Carlgti2010's Instagram account as well. This was our table :)
I stole this picture from Carlgti2010’s Instagram account as well. This was our table – everyone got a huge mason jar filled with hot cocoa, marshmallows, peppermints, chocolate candies & more. I actually ย tapped into mine the next day! Do you see the table number? Each table number was a small notebook that asked guests to write notes for the bride & groom to read on their X anniversary. We wrote notes for their third. Such a cute idea ๐Ÿ™‚

Mike & I!
Mike & I! It’s funny – he grew up in the same hometown as Brie, so he actually knew a bunch of the guests.
Cake time! Her 4 - tiered cake was gorgeous ( and delicious!)

So, I didn’t catch the bouquet, the girl right in front of me did! …But guess who caught the garter!?

Go figure! I should have known. Mike never loses at anything. One of the girls at our table caught the bouquet so they did their little thing - it was too funny.

...Obviously we had to have one more photo booth experience for good measure :)
…Obviously we had to have one more photo booth experience for good measure ๐Ÿ™‚ Right afterwards, we hit up the candy bar & called it a night. A GREAT night at that.

The wedding was so much fun. I’m really glad that I was able to be there to celebrate with Brianna and all of her friends and family! Everything was just perfect.

Sending a huge congrats to Brie & Colin (who are currently in Hawaii!!!) Wishing them a lifetime of love & happiness!

XOXO

Orange Ya Glad You Bought That Dress?!

Okay, totally tacky post title, but you’ll see how it’s relevant ๐Ÿ˜‰

I went to a wedding over the weekend, and had little time to put an outfit together. It was a day wedding, so I didn’t need to dress too formal. I was on a time crunch and a budget, see how it all came together below ๐Ÿ™‚

Remember this Cynthia Rowley dress I had snagged at Marshalls a couple of months ago? It came in handy ๐Ÿ™‚

I went shoe shopping for some fun new heels, but was completely out of luck! Nearly every store was stocked with wedges, or ginormous, chunky, color-blocked heels. Neither of which was the look I wanted to go with. I went back home and decided my leopard print heels would do just fine. (When I told my boyfriend I was just going to wear these shoes he said “Aren’t animal print shoes trashy?” HA! I told him no, a hint of animal print is completely in style, and he would be surprised by how well they’ll work with the outfit.) A told you so moment ๐Ÿ˜‰

Side note- I tweeted a picture of these shoes a while ago and was asked where I got them, and I honestly don’t remember! They’re actually are over 6 years old- I wore them to my High School graduation ceremony! lol

The dress had a high neck, so I was debating whether or not I should wear a necklace. Ultimately, it seemed too plain so I opted to wear these chunky warm toned & gold beads which I’ve had for a while- I swear, it’s a magic necklace, it compliments so many different outfits, and worked perfectly with the orange dress!

I needed a bracelet, or cocktail ring, and chose this brownish/gold ring that my roommate bought me for Christmas. It was the perfect finishing touch.

Of course you need a smaller clutch or bag, so I opted to carry my DKNY leather bag which I ‘m still in love with. (I told you I’d get some good use out of it- no buyers remorse ;))

I wanted to do something different with my nails. As you know I picked up the rest of the Gelish Candyland Collection a couple of weeks ago, so thought it’d be the perfect time to try out ‘Don’t Be Such a Sourpuss’. At first I hated it, it looked too green, but in natural light it is a really pretty yellow. I’ve actually been getting a lot of compliments on it. Who would have thought? ๐Ÿ™‚

I broke my thumb nails so I decided ditch the square shape and round everything off for a couple of weeks. I kind of like the round look ๐Ÿ™‚ (sorry for the greasy nails; I had just applied some cuticle oil lol)

My toes I painted with the fabulous Sally Hansen Insta-Dri orange polish that Ashely sent to me in the secret blogger swap. I love it! I can’t wait to use it on my fingernails as well.

Sorry to those skeeved out by feet pictures! LOL

And here you have the final product!

Isn’t my boyfriend adorable? He was all excited about his look as well- he cleans up nice ๐Ÿ˜‰
Another shot with Jackie (my boyfriends cousins girlfriend) ๐Ÿ™‚
Ugh, don’t we all have a bad side? lol..but this was a good accessories pic.

I was very happy with how well everything came together (and the fact that I didn’t spend any money). It pays to buy a couple of extra dresses you love if you randomly find them on sale!

Have you attended any weddings lately? What did you wear?
