Happy Weekend! The second What I Wore This Week post of 2018 is officially in the books! I am loving this January style challenge – you don’t realize how many clothes you have in your closet that you don’t want to wear …until you’re forced to wear them.

I stopped linking everything for a few reasons. First, not everything is available. Second, it takes forever trying to find close enough dupes for each article/accessory. Third, I really don’t think it matters that much to you guys! 😉 So anything new or interesting, I’ll link to, but if you’re curious about anything else, leave a comment or send me a message !

Monday, January 8, 2018: Last week started off COLD! Dressing for freezing temps is no easy feat. I was all about the layers on Monday…and probably should have opted for boots, but I was trying to throw some new shoes into the mix. I was on the fence about these sneakers when I got them, but they’re really starting to grow on me! Tuesday, January 9, 2018: This Banana Republic poncho is a couple of years old and doesn’t get a ton of wear. I can’t seem to part with it so I wanted to make it a point to wear it during this challenge. Naturally, when you wear the clothes you know you like, you’re forced to figure out why you don’t wear them more often. For this piece, I think it’s honestly its placement in my closet – I have it on a high shelf, folded, and pretty out of sight. I think it’s time to relocate this one. 🙂 Wednesday, January 10, 2018: Hello Hobo! This outfit was…I don’t know. This was a nothing fancy, no place to be, no plans on the schedule kind of day. My leggings, Short UGG’s , lightweight scarf, and Adidas hat are regular favorites, but this maroon duster has got to go! It hung in my closet untouched for months. I finally put it on, and just wasn’t feeling it. This has honestly been my favorite part of this challenge – trying things, realizing you really don’t love how they look on or how they make you feel, and giving yourself permission to get rid of them. Thursday, January 11, 2018: Okay, this was probably my favorite of the week for a few reasons. 1) I never wore this outfit before. 2) I rarely wear any of these pieces in general. 3) I feel like I tried something new! Though I did feel a bit like Sailor Moon, I loved everything about this look! It was fun + feminine, but still age + weather appropriate…and surprisingly comfortable.  Friday, January 12, 2018: Does anyone wear bootcut or bellbottom jeans anymore? I have one pair of each, and while I feel like bell bottoms are making a comeback, you don’t see them on too many people. I actually love bootcut denim, it’s fun to skip the skinnies every once in a while! This turtleneck I snagged at Primark and love the ruffle shoulder details. 🙂  I hope you’ve all been having a nice weekend. I like to use my Sundays to play catch up, so laundry, cleaning, blog prep, and things of that nature are on the agenda today! What are you up today? Whatever it may be, I hope you enjoy the rest of your afternoon. 🙂

Are you trying to pare down your wardrobe this year?
